Agree 100%. A guy who throws 97 with a catcher that throws a lot of runners out. Bottom line, we didn't give a good fastball hitter to swing the bat against a fastball pitcher when he was ahead in the count.

Looks like Snow wants out. Can't say I blame him. I don't think anybody expected Youk to catch on so quickly at 1B. I figured we'd be shipping out Snow sometime this year anyways to make more room for Hee Seop Choi who's a little more useful at the plate.

J.T. Snow wants out of Boston, and the Red Sox are trying to swing a deal to make it happen, the Hartford Courant reports. "J.T.'s the ultimate professional," agent Dan Horwits told the newspaper. "He realizes the guys playing in front of him are doing great. If he was playing more, he wouldn't have a problem. But the fact is, he's not playing at all."

I assumed it was only a matter of time before Snow started to make some noise. He isn't playing at all, and to be honest he really shouldn't be. Youk and Lowell have both done well and are vital to the offense so they're going to play everyday so there just isn't any room for him.

Two nice wins for the Sox over the Phils. How about Beckett today? 2 for 4 with a homer and 2 RBI's and he was dominating on the mound. He shouldn't have been out to start the 8th, but it didn't really cost them. Sweeping the Phils seems unlike with DiNardo going tomorrow, but anything can happen.

Sox lose today. The duo of DiNardo and Alvarez wasn't very effective. Taking two out of three from the Phils is still nice though. Yankees come to town tomorrow, is anyone else sick of these Yankees games already? 19 games are too much.

Are you kidding.Nineteen isn't enought for me.I could watch them play 100 times during a season.

I enjoy watching Sox/Yanks but agree that 19 times is too many to play division rivals. That along with interleague play makes it seem like we don't even play teams from the other AL divisions anymore.

Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006

I started to grow a little sick of Yanks/Sox on Opening Day of last year.

Like most other things, the media just overkilled everything. I went home for lunch today and flipped on YES and of course it's showing a "classic" game between the Yanks/Sox (it was the game from '02 when Urbina walked Posada w. the bases loaded to force in the winning run).

Plus the revolving door of players makes it hard to keep the same level of intensity. I mean the Sox have an entirely new infield this year! I'm not going to be nearly as hyped to see all these newbies and FA's clash with the Yanks who have the same amount of fresh faces.

The final straw was last year on Opening Day like I said. I mean, the Sox had just won the title after knocking off the Yanks last October and they have them open the season against each other - and to make things worse friggen Randy Johnson is now pitching for us?

Now this year we have the "king idiot" in Damon playing CF for us.

                        It's just rediculous lately.

                          Various news:

Francona said it's possible that Crisp will head to Florida, possibly within a week, on a rehab assignment. The advantage of sending the Sox leadoff hitter to extended spring training is that he could lead off every inning to get six or seven at-bats since those games are played under relaxed rules, said Francona.
The Red Sox activated reliever David Riske from the disabled list. In order to make room for Riske, who was placed on the disabled list April 12 with a lower back strain, Abe Alvarez was returned to Triple A Pawtucket.
Francona confirmed that David Wells will return to the mound this Friday against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, after the burly lefthander was solid in a rehab assignment for Pawtucket yesterday.

Its just too much and after awhile it loses its mystique. If Game 7 of the World Series were on everday that would become boring after awhile too. I'm more interested in seeing the Sox face the Blue Jays right now as thats the team they are really having a hard time figuring out. And If I had it my way division games would be cut from 19 to 12 because its just too much.
