Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006
And lost in the euphoria over the Ortiz walk-off, Kyle Snyder pitching 4.1 innings and allowing just one hit while striking out 6. Big props to Mr. Snyder. Johnson goes tomorrow. Maybe pitching against the team that cut him will motivate him, or something.Comment

Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006
David Ortiz is like the anti-closer. Its unbeleivable what this man does.
But the Red Sox really earned this win tonight. Snyder came into pitch 4.1/3 innings of 1 hit ball, Willy Mo came with in a double of the cycle and batted in 3 runs, Manny hit a 2 run homerun and of course Ortiz hitting 2 homeruns including the game winner.
Hopefully Tek is ok but Mirabelli should be a servicable back up considering Teks numbers this year but hopefully it doesn't affect our pitchers because Tek calls a good game.Comment

I was sitting and watching the game by myself (on the edge of my seat, of couse) and saying to myself, "There's no way he can do it again..." almost trying to convince myself he wouldn't go deep. And of course he does. I'm still in awe and I likely will be when I wake up tomorrow.Comment

Originally posted by JazzyJEven though Tek's bat has been weak, Mirabelli has looked like a girl scout at the plate this year. I'm not really sure what a girl scout would look like facing MLB pitching, but it can't be pretty.
Mirabelli's OPS in July has been over .800 so hopefully he keeps that up now that he's playing more. We know he doesn't have speed to burn, thats for sure. He was out by a mile at the plate last night on a weak throw from center and presumably he was off on contact.Comment

I like Belli though, and hope he's able to get something going this year.Comment

Apparently Trot is out for an estimated 3 weeks. While it's ultimately bad that Nixon will be gone, I'm glad to see Wily Mo get a chance to see some pt. The guy can mash.
Anyone heard anything about Varitek? Last I heard he was going to have an MRI.Comment
