    really?

Those Oakland fans are pretty annoying, they have drums and blow an air horn when someone on the Sox are about to make a catch. They rank up there with the guy from Tampa Bay.

Top of the 9th, 7-3 Sox. Papelbon is coming in soon so it should be pretty much over giving us the 2nd best record in baseball since the White Sox lost tonight.

Zito was able to dance through rain drops at Fenway, but not tonight. Beckett wasn't outstanding but he did give the Sox a quality start. And considering the A's clobberred him last time they were given the chance I'll take it. Hopefully Schilling can dominate tomorrow like he did at Fenway. I don't expect him to be quite that good but another quality start from a Sox starter would be quite nice.

Sox out to a quick 2-0 lead tonight. A "long single" by Manny and a sac fly from Nixon scored the runs. I gave Manny a pass on the ball he hit in Seatle, but tonight's should have been a double.

I know he drives in a ton of runs... but how do no Boston fans express their discontent with Manny's lack of hustle?

If he played for the Yankees... he could drive in 200 runs and if he didnt haul *** down the line, he would be booed out of NY.

Boston fans are more reasonable. He's going to have maybe 5 doubles turned into singles over the course of a season because he didn't run on contact. A small price to pay especially considering his base-running and defense have been much better this year than in year's past.

And tonight's a good example too, Manny is 2 for 2 with a homerun and three runs batted in in 3 plate appearances.

A's making a bit of a comeback, 6-4 after 5 and two thirds.

Apparently at some point Delcarmen broke during the Seatle series, he can't get anyone out here in the 7th.

After Delcarmen gave up three straight hits and a run to open the 7th, he gets Bradley to break his bat and strikes out Thomas (on a sick curveball) and Swisher. The Sox still have a lead, 6-5.

Red Sox have'em loaded in the Top of the 8th, Duchscherer got himself throw out after he got removed. Why doesn't Francona bring in Pena to face the lefty instead of Nixon?

Sox break the game open, 10-5. Varitek with the bases clearing double. The Red Sox finally get to Justin Duchscherer (granted all three runs he gave up were inherited by Brad Halsey).

Back to back singles by Lowell and Crisp to add another run. Red Sox Nation, it is now safe to go to bed. That was big for the Red Sox to come back after the A's had chipped away to make it a one run game and basically slam the door in their face. Barring a meltdown by the likes of Papelbon, this game is over.

Ouch. Delcarmen may haev struggled but thsoe last three at-bats were naty pitches. The breaking ball he struck out Thomas on was probably the single ebst pitch of the game. Nice to see Tek, who've I've been riding pretty hard for a year and a half, start to get hot. When he streaks he streaks, hopefully it keeps up.

Some do, but the majority are smart enough to realize him turning a double into a single a few times over the course of the year is a minor detail when compared to his overall production. On top of that, Manny has been hustling much more than in previous years and has played pretty well in the field.
