If Delcarmen keeps pounding the strike zone and using that power curve in key counts, he's going to continue to have a huge impact from the 7th inning on.

Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006
What do you guys think about Francona leaving Hansen in there for almost 2 innings? It seems like he breezes through the first inning then goes on to struggle in his second inning almost every time. Did Francona leave him in to practice 2 innings with a 6 run lead or did he just leave him in to long??Comment

Game over, Sox win 9-4. Decent outing for Snyder, had some trouble again in the fifth but this time the defense wasn't helping him out too much. Hopefully this calf injury isn't serious because the Sox can't afford to lose any more arms. Hansen should only go multiple innings in blow-out situations as he does appear to be ineffective in his second inning. Moyer just can't catch a break against the Sox.Comment

Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006
Kason Gabbard vs Felix Hernandez today. Yeah it isn't a very sexy matchup but they can't all be. Gabbard is your average junk-tossing lefty from what I hear. Nothing in the 90's and has to pitch to the corners and change speeds to be effective. Hopefully he can stay out of the middle of plate but at the same time not walk a lot of guys. This Seatle lineup isn't the most difficult to pitch to but if you go out there throwing the ball down the middle they will score some runs. The Sox have never faced Hernandez, who is having a tough year despite having great stuff. He's the type of pitcher who is going to give this team fits. I expect him to shut the Sox down but hopefully I'm wrong.Comment

Here goes Thom Brennaman with his soap box. Whats with Fox broadcasters wanting to get on a soap box? I honestly think Manny hit that ball and had no idea where it went. And when Manny does "pose" he usually doesn't drop the bat like that, where as I've seen him lose his bat when fouling off pitches.Comment

Originally posted by camulosManny is right up there with Arod in taking unwarranted criticism. Seems like people can find something wrong with pretty much everything he does.
I agree. The only difference is that the fans seem to cheer for Manny no matter what while the fans in New York tend to side with the media. Manny has done stuff in the past that deserve criticism (the Tampa incident comes to mind) but mostly he plays the game just like anyone else.Comment

Big double play to end the inning there. Decent job by Tavarez, got 2 ground balls with runners on base.Comment
