It will be Lima time in Shea this season if Jose Lima beats out Aaron Heilman for the 5th starter job. Despite a dismal 5-16 record for a dismal Royals team Lima seems to thrive when pitching for a contender, Lima is 60-34 when playing on teams in pennent races, 29-64 when playing for teams not in any races, the Mets should contend for the NL East and Wild Card titles. Heilman was good out of the pen last year but has always struggled when the Mets use him as a Starter.
Heilman, Darren Oliver and John Maine will battle Lima for the last spot in the Mets rotation.

Re: The New York Mets 'New' Stadium

For those that didn't know, either All-Star Baseball 2003 or All-Star Baseball 2004 actually had a revolving 3-D model of the new stadium and a couple of other proposed new stadiums on the disc.

              peace!

The original dimensions would be like the anti-Petco. I wonder when it went from 450 in center to 393.

Has there been any news what providers are picking up the Mets new channel, SportsNet NY? Basically Cablevision? I wonder if it's going to be like the YES Network or if it will be on Cablevision right away.

First Pre-Season game today, the Mets beat The Cards, 12-6, Nady goes 4-4 and a grandslam and 6 RBI's, Delgodo goes 3-3, with 2 runs. I really Hope Nady wins the Job in RF, He's young and is a really solid player, Also Willie really like his game. Baseball is back, Love it.

Did anybody happen to see Zambrano pitching in the WBC against the Dominican Republic team? he had nasty stuff, actually i havent seen such good stuff from a pitcher in awhile, im not jumping on the zambrano bandwagon because all winter i was hoping they would find some way to trade him but i saw him pitch 2 days ago against david ortiz and he fooled him with every pitch. and with a 2-2 count zambrano threw an amazing curve ball low and in and ortiz looked like he was screwing himself into the ground his swing was so bad. I hope this is just the beginning and i hope we finally get to see the zambrano we were promised when we gave up kazmire!

It's been a weird Spring for me, I haven't even really given too much attention to the Mets Spring training. Thus, I don't have any expectations for this year!!

The only ones I have is that our bullpen will be better, Reyes and Wright will continues to improve, and that Beltran will have a better year. If those things happen, I think good things will happen. I'm quite confident that if we are in the running at the trade deadline, Manaya is competent enough to make deal(s) to get us to the playoffs. It's weird to actually have confidence in the front office, isn't it?
