        After looking at Pedro's box score from tonight, it is officially time to push the button:



        IMO, the NL is wide open right now. With Pedro throwing the way he is, who are the Mets going to be beating?

            And even worse news for the Mets.....the Astros are creeping up. IMO, if the Stros make it, they are the most dangerous team with that rotation. Pedro hasn't looked good, I wouldn't worry about the lsoing streak stuff but they needed Pedro to show something today. The weakness of the Mets is the rotation and they need Pedro. If he can't get it together by next week, they won't make it to the WS. I still like their chances if the Astros aren't in though.

                I still think the Mets have such an explosive offense they will be able to beat out the rest of the NL.

                    i hate this.. the Mets have been on "coast mode" since clinching the NL East.. hey, Willy, how about getting the team to show something before the playoffs start?

                        This is what killed ATL a lot of years, sure it's nice to clinch early and set your rotation; but also if you clinch too early, you have nothing to play for anymore. The Mets were so good, they are guaranteed the number 1 spot in the NL, they have had nothing to play for. We will see what happens.

                            Pitching has scared me about the Mets for awhile. All season, we haven't had that one "stopper", the one dude in the rotation who would be like, "F that, we're getting a win tonight"... This latest start from Pedro has me more than a little nervous about the postseason, especially if we come up against a team that can somewhat contain our lineup.

                                This is frustrating me as well... playing 4/5ths of the starters... how about we get a solid, 9 man lineup and play 'em for a week? Hey? Is that not a good concept?

                                    It's not like he looks like he can help the team right now.

                                        put him in the pen for the postseason.. go with a rotation of Glavine, Traschel, & El Duque.. & Maine/ Williams/ Perez as the potential 4th starter..

                                                    Ever since the clincher the offense has gone down the tubes.

                                                    The pitching hasn't been that bad, other than this last 2 games in Atlanta, it's the offense that has gone to sleep.

                                                    I know this team has been in cruise control for a while now, but geez wakeup already.

                                                    IMO, this team has been playing without anykind of pressure for almost 2 months and it's starting to catch up with them.

                                                    I think they guys are just tired of playing meaningless games and want the playoffs to start already, but what a ugly way to go about it.

                                                    You see the games, and their just isn't anykind of intensity. They're in limbo.

                                                    Game 1 can't get here soon enough.

                                                        Alot of Met Fans are freaking out right now. I'm trying to look on the bright side. I'd rather have the bats quiet now, than in the playoffs. Our lineup is too strong to be quiet for long. As for the rotation...well...We've done great things this year without Pedro. I think we may see Maine and El Dugue really step up (So glad the Benson trade ended up giving us these two guys). I'm hoping Glavine has a few crafty games left in him. Trachsel...whatever. Now is not the time to hang our heads. Let's Go Mets!!!
