If they win they are in because the Phils are two games out..so there would be no way for them to catch the dodgers or the padres.

They clinch a playoff spot with a win regardless of how the Dodgers or Phillies do today.

The only way they wouldn't have clinched is if they lost and the Phillies won.

The only thing that is left to be decided is who gets the division and who gets the wild card.

Dave Roberts reaction on getting robbed on that home run was priceless.

I think the D-Backs will be serious contenders next season if they shore up that pitching. They're talented offensively with Connor Jackson, Carlos Quentin, Stephen Drew, and co.

I'll give props to the Phillies for not giving up. They were handling their own business is trying to get to the playoffs, but the other teams were doing the same.

Now that our business is settled, cheers to a LA/SD NLCS.

I've been kind of down on the Padres this year after the pathetic playoff showing last year. But I actually like the way they match up with the other NL playoff teams this year. The Mets should still be the favorites to go to the WS but I'm not sure if they have the starting pitching with Pedro out (an area where the Padres look ok). Unfortunately I think it's going to be ugly for whichever NL team goes to the WS.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I hope the LA and SD represent this division well. We have become the laughing stock of the league. But the Mets and St. L weren't be easy!

NL West hasn't been as good in the post season as other teams...

I don't think anyone who's made the playoffs from this division has reached the NLCS since 2002.

Hopefully this year the NL West teams can turn it around and represent this offseason. I think the NL playoffs in particular, are wide open. The Mets are probably the best team in the NL, but in a short series, with their pitching issues, they are far from a lock.

Seems like the Dodgers are content with at least the wild card.

They've pulled Lowe's start and have benched all their starters.

Their offense vs. the Mets offense could be interesting, mashing on each other's pitching.
