In any case, I decided to browse around the ESPN forums yesterday and that is just what I saw.
Honestly, I think you need to spend some time at the beach, because 2005 was a year ago.Comment

Arm fatigue huh? Well he's thrown a lot of pitches and he did participate in the WBC.
I blame him.Comment

Here's a cookie Alliball.
Too bad I have too many things to juggle around at my own expense that I have so little time to post on forums now and browse the internet. It's a pity I can't put "needs to catch skin cancer" on my list, but thanks for the suggestion.Comment

Try sunscreen. Nice try..
I don't know, I've gotten more sunburns when I've used sunscreen as opposeod to when I didn't... and I don't burn easily to begin with. Maybe I still don't understand the effects of that stuff.
I guess a better and more honest answer would be that the beach is that last place I'd like to be. I just don't enjoy going to the beach as much as some San Diegans here do.Comment

Re: Official San Diego Padres Thread - 2006
Another big bat that may be headed to free agency that the Padres will choose to overlook... It's stupid how on Monday's radio show on the Double XX Kevin Towers was unaware that Carlos Lee may be a free agent. Sure his average has dipped, but he's been producing and has shown just that in this series.
I'm not sure how'd he fit playing in a pitcher friendly-NL West, but should that really matter? He's supposed to have top-tier power.Comment

Down goes Dave Magadan as he was fired after the game and have hired Merv Rettenmund as the new hitting coach.

Re: Official San Diego Padres Thread - 2006
Honestly, I did not expect this to really happen given the loyalty Bochy and KT had towards Magadan. I was one of those calling for Magadan to be fired but I gave up my stance on that when I saw how the team performed with him as hitting coach compared to Duane Espy. Now I didn't really follow the team that closely in the nineties when Merv Rettenmund was the hitting coach for that decade, but I'm looking forward to seeing how this impacts the offense.
Over and under, when will the fickle fans begin to call for Merv's head when the offense goes dead? I say four games and under.Comment

I don't want to jinx Peavy, but he has looked really good in his past two starts and IMO he deserves a 6-8 record right now with those two starts.
But as long as they're winning his starts, that counts as well.Comment
