9 in a row. We found a way to win. Myers was great, Gordon faltered, but we picked him up!

We're playing good baseball in mid-May...not used to seeing that. Even Kid Cynical shot me a couple IM's last night expressing his excitement.

            Re: 2006 Philadelphia Phillies Thread

Reading back through this thread, isn't it ironic that this team started winning when Utley was moved to 2nd in the lineup, and Rowand was placed in the 6th spot behind Howard?

Isn't it also ironic that Utley, Howard, and Rowand have been on tears since the change?

Isn't it ironic that we continue to win despite Lieberthal (I hate you!) being injured?

Isn't it ironic that Gordon blew his first save against Wagner's Mets, but we still won?

Isn't it ironic that we've come from behind to win? That we've blown leads, only to find a way to win?

After suffering through the Francona and Bowa years where we found ways to lose, do we finally have a team that knows how to win?

I have to keep reminding myself that it's only May...

Not bad so far for Hamels. Has walked 4 through 3 innings but no hits given up yet. I'm taking a wild guess that he is a bit nervous which could be the reason for all the walks.

Uncharacteristic of him, but he's having a solid outing thus far. Only 2-0 though...

Hamels' day is done. 5IP 1H 5BB 7Ks. Pretty impressive if it wasn't for the walks.

Uhh yeah, so you take out Hamels, bring Madson and the Reds hit 2 solo shots. Tied at 2.

Impressive even with the walks, especially when you consider it was the Reds lineup.

Ryan Madson gives up 2 homers in his first inning of relief...tie game.

1 back of the Mets. Our pitching staff had a great weekend against one of the better offensive lineups in the entire league. Hamels was brilliant on Friday night, despite 5 walks. Lieber was the best I've ever seen him on Saturday night, going perfect through 6 2/3. Today, Myers had another strong outing, solidifying his status as our staff's ace.

                                4 in a row, 13 of 14. Milwaukee's up next.

                                Floyd on Wednesday
Hamels on Thursday (assuming Manuel doesn't skip his spot in the rotation)
