All of us at the Mets are bitterly disappointed in failing to achieve our collective goal of building upon last year's success. We did not meet our organization's expectations -- or yours. Everyone at Shea feels the same range of emotions as you -- our loyal fans -- and we know we have let you down. We wanted to thank you for your record-breaking support of our team this year.

Equally important, Ownership will continue its commitment in providing the resources necessary to field a championship team. Omar will be meeting with Ownership shortly to present his plan on addressing our shortcomings so that we can achieve our goal of winning championships in 2008 and beyond.

You deserve better results.

I am in absolutely no way trying to instigate anything, but I just was thinking about 1969, and well... karma sucks don't it?

For some reason I was thinking that collapse was just as bad as this one.

Now, how can a Yankee fan talk? How many mistakes are masked by the Yankees because of their unlimited resources and funds? Igawa? Mussina? What, you think other teams can offer Clemens $25Million for half a year? Or tell a Philly team yea, we"ll take Abreau off your hands for the full amount and here's a handful of C prospects for your troubles.

Yeah we gave Clemens 25 Million, you know why because we can & @ the time we needed an arm. I'm not sure why you mentioned Mussina, when Glavine was just as bad as Mussina, especially in the last month with his 15 run ERA.

BTW, your high-priced Players didn't fare to well in crunch time either, so what's your point?

I'd offer Pelfrey and Carlos Gomez or a prospect like that to the Marlins for Dontrelle Willis. He had a bad year this year, but still threw more innings than any Mets pitcher and is a 25 year old former Cy Young runner up. I'd also THINK about trading Beltran for a young potential ace such as Matt Cain.

With the unspectacular home record that the Mets had the past 2 seasons, do you think Minaya have assembled a lineup that's not fit fot Shea Stadium?
Big guns such as Beltran and Delgado are pretty much pull hitters that don't take advantage of Shea's vast outfield real estate. Wright hits to all parts of the field, but his upper cut swing may not work to his advantage, considering Shea's outfield. What do you think of that theory?

I saw that Delgado pic in the paper this morning, very weird. I assume it's for a charitable function, but even so, shouldn't you put it in a bag or something?
