Very good series by the bullpen, helped by 3 great outing by the starters.

Braves and Phillies play each other starting tomorrow, if the Mets can at least win 2 in Cincy they'll keep gaining games on one of them.

wagner is a mental midget at this point, he needs to get his head right. same with the rest of the pen.

Peter looked pretty good today, especially after the first ining... I'd love to hear what the erstwhile genius of New York baseball, Steve Phillips, has to say now.... He basically made it seem like the Reds would hit 9 consecutive homers off him. Idiot.

He started off a little shaky but was able to get the fastball up to 91, which was a lot harder than he threw any time last year (and a good part of 2005).

He brings a great enery to the team.

Philties lost again too, back to a 5 game lead

Honestly, guys like Jon Heyman were saying the Mets were about to "enter the wild card race" after those losses. Sure, they sucked but man, they make these wins taste even better. Still a long way to go though

I have faith... It was more being pissed off at how badly we were playing than anything else. Some people are killing Willie, but you don't have to look too hard to appreciate what he's done with a rotation that has been patchwork at best all year.

Pelfrey looked great against Atlanta... starting to step it up...

worried about some reports I have read about some players questioning Willie's managing style, & the FO may not be "in love" with him...
