The kid showed his immaturity last night. You're in an important point of the season and you just DO NOT do that.

Remember when Piazza didn't kick Clemens' *** for throwing the bat at him? I was pissed to the point where I though Mike was a big fruitcake. But when you really think about... who was the bigger loss for their team at that point? Mets lose Piazza and the don't even win a game that series.

Argh... Timo... why did you slow down at 3rd base in Game 2??

From what I'm reading, there is all sorts of heat on Willie... I'm just thinking at some point, this team just has to get a collective "Funk this" attitude and just goes balls to the wall for these last games. D-Wright is emerging as a clubhouse leader and spokesman, maybe he'll be the one to get everyone's head right. At this point, I just wish we could take Marlon Anderson and clone him a few times.

Different articles... I should've used quotation marks around the word "heat", because I think at this point, it's just speculation by different writers, no different from the Post article of a few weeks ago. Wilpon came out and said some crap in the newspapers, but he doesn't count for much in my eyes... Although I did hear from one of the Mets broadcasters on WFAN that this team appears to be playing very tight.

theres a problem. a "whole team" just doesnt go into a "slump" an entire bullpen doesnt go into a "slump" there is a problem inside of this team somewhere and when you talk about the "whole team" you have to blame the manager.

willie wasnt himself at the post game press conference last night he looked like hes a beaten man. he looked weak. and then out of nowhere, noone asked a question and hes like well get it back on track guys we'll come out tomorrow. im like tf was that? did he just remember hes su[pposed to say stuff like that? he even said it like with no emotion. and hes the leader and motivator? whatever. with the talent that was given to him there is no excuse. get rid of him. i want to see girardi in here and give this team some heart.

he voiced his support of Willie, said that times like this is what draws a team together, especially the manager and GM... He acknowledged they didn't see eye-to-eye on the dismissal of Rick Down, but said he reserved the right to veto or sign off on any coaching staff changes. He also said that part of the reason he hired Willie was because of his having been through the wars in NY, as a player and coach. Said Jose is pressing, and spoke about trading Bannister for Burgos, and the bullpen issues. I like Omar, he doesn't spit that double-talk you get from most front office people.

I thought that they had called the game... I went to bed around around 12:00 or so, and when I put on my radio expecting to hear Steve Somers, I hear Schoeneweis getting the last out.
