    Re: 2007 San Francisco Giants

I think we've might have found our 5th starter for next year barring no moves are made. Correia was solid and I think he is much better suited to work in the rotation than out in the pen. We've also finally found a solid 1-2 punch with Wilson and Hennessey. I think Wilson would probably be better suited to be the lockdown closer as he has some electric stuff. Health is the only concern with him in the last few years, so we can only hope.

Another new beginning goes with 2B. Frandsen is going to be our future and I think it's time to fully start that. No more playing around with Durham and his lack of production (Cain has 2HR at AT&T this year, compared to Durham's 1). I heard that Bonds was giving Frandsen some tips in terms of hitting and what did that do? Frandsen going yard. He also has a lot more range.

Since we're stuck with bad contracts in Roberts Winn and Durham next year, we're probably better off just re-signing Vizquel and Bonds to 1yr deals. We should then try giving Ortmeier the every day 1B job.

Great points, remix. And yeah Brian Wilson is looking decent as the setup man. He's got some heat, and his cutter is nasty. Durham is in a permanent slump now, I guess he really tried hard his contract year.

Wow Guillermo Rodriguez with his 1st Major League Homer helps sweep the Brewers, a nice comeback.

Very exciting game! I was actually about 10ft away from where he hit that HR! It's good to see the younger guys making clutch plays when we need them....and I agree, the Giants should let Frandsen play more often. He's only getting better!

Wilson should be closer. Any ways I hope they get a solid bat next year and some more bull pen help. If they do that they will be fine next year.

i love how the Giants have played their best baseball since Bonds got his milestone out of the way... It only makes sense to win games that mean absolutely nothing to us. We've won 11 of the last 13, and the two games we lost were games that we should have come away with.

I think we've got a soon to be ace in Matt Cain. The strides he's taken this season have been huge. He's pitched through trouble, adversity and a lack of run support through the majority of the season and we haven't heard one peep from him in regards toward negativity. His goals this season included having an ERA below 4 and to reach 200 innings pitched. I kept thinking Cain was older than he was, but in reality he's only 22 and younger than Lincecum by a few months. To think we're going to have Cain and Lincecum at the top of our rotation for the next few years is very exciting. Zito has pitched a nice August and Lowry has YET to lose in his career in August. Next year if no changes are made to the staff, we could see four 12+ game winners.. of course that means our offense improves from this year.

I blame Rodriguez! But then again Lowry had command problems from what I was listening to on the radio for a bit till I got shut it off when it was 5-0. Had to get to class!

Wow Tyler Walker made a fast comeback from Tommy Johns. It's been awhile since I've seen the bullpen pitch 3 innings straight without letting minimal baserunners on. Another decent outing by Correira and bullpen. 12 wins out of the last 15 games. Not bad, but too bad it's wayyyyyyyy to late in the season to make a push for the wildcard.

Yeah, I was getting ready to come on here and say looks like Brad is going to be a good closer and than James knocks one out. I still think Wilson should be the closer. Any ways it is alway nice beating the LA!
