Good pitchers duel until the ump decided to show up Clay. Hopefully he learns not to do that again, but this ump totally screwed him over.

Emmel may find himself back in AAA before he gets to screw over another pitcher. That's unacceptable.

I guess they were due for at least one.

Paul Emmel must've felt sympathetic for Boch.

Am I missing something here but do people really expect the Giants to lose 120 games this year or what? By the way, I hope you continue to cry about the umps, that's baseball.

Nope, I can get behind human errors and bad calls, but not when an ump completely f's over a pitcher by calling everything a ball, likewise I wouldn't be giving the replies you and scottd are giving to me had the situation been reversed.

In any case, the Giants deserve the credit in capitalizing on a situation. However, I sure hope that Wilson guy or whoever the Giants have in mind to replace Benitez gets ready soon, that guy almost blew an easy one-out save.

No. The Giants are nowhere near the losing capabilities of the Nationals. Like I said in my prediction, the Giants are ambiguous. They have the rotation to at least be competitive in this division, their offense needs to come up to the occasion and help out Bonds for it to be effective, and the bullpen needs to step up considerably.

Not so much. Unless Bonds returns to his '04 form and carries the offense (he's the X factor IMO, as we've seen how stagnant the Giants have been without a healthy Bonds) and the pitching staff has a career year, the Giants won't be near the playoff discussion.

More likely than not, the opposite will occur.

The Giants seem to be more agressive this season. They've rolled the dice early on the bases.
