    Oh yeah BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCEE!

Bailey ain't ready either bro. what about Matt Maloney. On a side note the Reds are projected to take Yonder Alonso 6'2 215 1B from The U ended up w/ a .551 BA...backup Catcher also.

sorry I agree with Jake on this one. Thompson just got to triple-A and I think management wants to handle him with care after seeing Bailey struggle with command and whine and complain. Bailey already has big league experience so it's OK to call him up for a spot start, in my opinion.

Reds call up Danny Herrera, who they received in the Hamilton deal. I honestly hadn't been paying much attention to him but he seemed like he was pitching well down there.

Maloney is not on the 40 man roster so that is why they did not call him up.
They would have had to release someone to call him up.
Anytime you call up someone not on the 40 man you have to remove someone from the 40 man and they then can be picked up by another team.
Again Bailey was the best most logical choice, lets not forget this guy has great stuff.

By the way Maloney got rocked last night in AAA and has a 4.52 era while Homer had a 4.15 era before being called up.

How about this little guy last night?
He struck out Howard and Burrell with the bases loaded.
He looks like he is about 12 years old on the mound.
Man Brandon Phillips killed us last night, two different times Bruce got on and Phillips hit into DP's.
The last at bat in the 9th for Bruce was great, he was down 1-2 in the count and ended up walking to bring up the winning run to the plate. If Phillips would not have hit into a DP Bruce would have scored as Dunn walked and then Edwin singled.

Did you guys see Freel's injury last night?
He can not stay healthy, he gets injured every year.

              Can you say Corey Patterson?
Will he rejoin the team with Freel now hurnt?
Patterson is batting .409 at Louisville since being sent down.
He is 9-22 batting and I dont really see who else would get the call up today.

Yeah, you're right, they called him up today. Hopefully he can be as productive up here as he's been in his short time in AAA.

I can say it but it doesn't mean I like it. Patterson has had a career of not hitting at the major league level and until he does I will not be impressed with a great AAA avg. Some guys are better minor leaguers than major leaguers and Patterson is running out of time to prove he belongs.

                  Hear's to hoping he does.

Hopefully he is only used as a pinch runner and gets an occasional start.

I didn't get to see or hear any of the game tonight because of school but it sounds like it was a great game, especially if you like pitcher's duels. Votto came through once again when it mattered. Volquez and the 'pen did a great job. Impressive win out of the Redlegs, especially after two tough 1-run losses.

simply put, Volquez was the difference tonight. Mowed down Utley twice, then hit him the third time to load the bases for Howard, then gets Howard to fly out to end the inning. Votto comes up clutch at the end of the game for us.

I know Dusty's sitting Griffey because he wants to let him 600 at home but we can't afford to keep holding him out of the lineup.

No he is not holding him out to hit 600 at home, Griffey is saying he has something wrong with his legs.
According to Marty last night on the radio, Dusty had him in the orginal line up last night but Griffey told him he wanted to sit again because of the wet field.
Dusty also had him in the line up on Monday but Griff came to him before the game and told him about his legs being sore for the first time.
Word here in Cincy is Griffey really wants to hit 600 in Florida because that is where him and his whole family lives.
Again it is not the team or Dusty holding him out, he is holding himself out.

So if the All-Star game was tomorrow would Volquez be the starting pitcher for the NL?? I dont see how he would not be, leading the league in ERA and K's. He was great again last night 7 innings 2 hits 0 runs and I believe 8 K's. The kid is absolutely amazing, the Reds would be in terrible shape without him. As crazy as it sounds I am glad we made the trade to get him for Hamilton.

Herrera was sent back down today to make room for Bailey.
So far so good with Bailey 4 innings and only 1 unearned run.

Defensively the Reds were absolutely horrible today. Also once again could not hit a left-handed pitcher to save the life of them. Phillies are one of the hottest teams in baseball right now kinda like the Reds were last week. With that being said the Reds were competitive in all the games against Philly with the exception of todays game.

Forums have been down most of the day for me, but had to again post about Dusty WTF was he thinking last night brining Cordero in with 2 outs in the 8th inning and why would you bring a closer in the 8th inning then have him set an inning to go back out there? Just doesnt make sense. To make things worse Cordero came up to bat in the 9th with the bases loaded for his second career AB and grounded into an inning ending double play. Dusty Baker is an idiot I dont care what anyone says he has done more bad then good in his short time with the Reds and dont even get me started with Corey Patterson dude is absolute trash. 0-4 last night and 0-1 today Patterson has not had a hit since May 20th against LA. He is hitting .193 and sucks!!!!

As much as I love the the Miami Hurricanes, why did the Reds draft Yonder Alonso in the 1st round Thursday? Are they planning on moving Votto to the OF? Everything I've read post-pick was that their pick was the first surprise. And, if they were going to pick a 1B, they picked him over Justin Smoak. I don't get it.
