Re: 2008 Cincinnati Reds
I'm guessing they have given up, and are now attempting to shift around people in hopes of figuring it out for next season. Who knows.Comment

Re: 2008 Cincinnati Reds
Bronson looked pretty good tonight. That HR that Bruce hit almost looked like it was off the end of the bat and it went a long way.MLB: Cincinnati Reds
NFL: Cincinnati Bengals
NCAA Hoops: Xavier Musketeers
NCAA Football: Miami Hurricanes
NHL: Calgary Flames

Re: 2008 Cincinnati Reds
It is just so dang laughable with this team. I go to check out the score and of course it is 6-0 Houston.
Too bad the Reds couldn't work out a trade for Fogg#WeAreUKComment

Re: 2008 Cincinnati Reds
The Reds are 2-8 in their last 10 and are now down 6-0 to the Astros. I feel like after the Junior trade, the rest of the team gave up on this season. Come on Dusty, now more than ever is the time to ever your money and get these players motivated.Lux y VeritasComment

Re: 2008 Cincinnati Reds
Yep, Corey Patterson is playing, Fogg gave up a 3-run HR to Pence that he hit off the end of his bat, and Jay Bruce tried to make a non-chalant catch on a ball hit by Oswalt which he of course dropped. They are putting on a heckuva display tonight.MLB: Cincinnati Reds
NFL: Cincinnati Bengals
NCAA Hoops: Xavier Musketeers

Re: 2008 Cincinnati Reds
I hope we put Fogg on waivers and some team claims him, not so sure how likely it will e. I wouldn't even try to get a player from the other team, I'd gladly just let him go to a different team. Now, we never know, he could've already cleared waivers or placed on them because a lot of that stuff doesn't become public. Also, why does Corey Patterson even have a job, I'd much rather give Chris Dickerson a chance right now. I'm sure he will once september hits, but Corey Patterson just doesn't do it for me.Comment

Re: 2008 Cincinnati Reds
a few things:
-Jocketty just brought in Bill Bavasi to be a special assistant to the GM. You may remember Bavasi for creating that disaster of a team in the Pacific Northwest known as the Seattle Mariners.
-The Reds first round draft pick this year, Miami 1B Yonder Alonso, is considering returning to school instead of signing with the Reds. Alonso is asking for a $7 million signing bonus, well above the Reds offer of $2.8 million. MLB slotted the pick where Alonso was selected at $2.8 million too so it appears Alonso is just asking for an exorbitant amount of money.
-I was listening to the local sports radio today and I heard that Dusty had some interesting comments on the team yesterday. I can't find a link to a newspaper so I'm paraphrasing here, but he basically said he didn't like the personnel of the team when he was hired and that the Reds are "Wayne Krivsky's team, not mine and not Walt's." Basically saying he doesn't feel can win with this team and that he does not like the current players on the team. He went on to say it's frustrating because he wants to win now more than ever.Lux y VeritasComment

I want to say we should blow up this team and put tons of youth out there a la the Florida Marlins, but this team is already pretty damn young. Even if we did, we'd have morons leading us.
We need a coach who is hungry to prove himself with a young, hungry team.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds
