That's him!!...Eli..yea, he did have some strange things to say that I thought was out of line sometimes..lol ..yep.

That is good news about Willie!!...The Mets will be allright, it is still early!!, we are still in May!...there is still enough time, no time to panic. The stupid media sometimes rile the fans to be negative against the team instead of giving the fans a positive message.

I have a gut feeling the Mets will be in first place and win the division. There are in a slump now, 5 game behind is nothing!!!... they will get out of it! All teams go through it...its part of the game...

People need to have faith in the team and not so much hate.

      @ NEWYORICAN

Bro....you know what it is? See, you and I are old enough to remember, know and UNDERSTAND (the big word these days when SOME talk about the Mets) how this city was BEFORE the internet, talk radio, blogs, message boards.....

There are three majors in the city: NY Times, Daily News and the rag called the Post. There was one paper, that in the beginning, focused on all things Long Island before they expanded their coverage into New York City (Newsday).

At that time, there was no hysteria, no NFL mentality (OH my God! the Mets lost two games...there's 14 left...ooops...I forgot, it IS a 162 game season), no idiots creating blogs that give them a false sense that they had common sense and NO sportstalk radio.

Remove all of this **** ASAP, and watch how not only the Mets, but all sports are covered.

Some ******* called last night talking about RETIRED and OLD Jack McKeon should be the next Mets manager...when pressed that he was retired and it wasn't a realistic choice, the ******* went on to say, "well, I'll take whoever, just to get Randolph out of here..." How patently stupid...

Yep, we are old school...I don't remember seeing or hearing the crap some people say about NY teams as I' been seeing now. We NY'ers should be better then that. It's real sad how some people take it so personal with their teams, they need to take a step back and stop acting like cryi babbies. Man, reading those racist post in MLB.com makes me wonder, I don't think we as society, have progressed much as I thought it would. Especially in NY where is multi-cultural. So sad...

It looks like it is still an issue with some people. Mental illness is right!...But you know, when I lived in NY, I experience lots of racisim, and it was always hidden, you wouldn't know it. Unlike here where I live in Georgia they will tell you straight in your face, we don't like brown people, and they think every latin is an Immigrant. These bigots don't scare me. I just laugh at their ignorence. But I least I know who they are!..lol

Anyway, I found it funny what you said about The Post. "Rag"!...lol that is so true man.

Sounds like you have a nice job at Verizon!!...good for you!..engineer!.wow..sounds real nice bro.

I'm pulling for the Mets tonight!!!, Lets go Mets....Oh, I forgot to tell you...My son is a huge Mets Fan!!, so you know, we have small arguments at home...but it is all in fun!!!

        peace my friend!

          Tonight's Games vs. The Marlins

YES, Reyes botched a routine grounder

YES, almost predictably, Pelfrey cannot for the life of him, pick up his teammate when a miscue is committed in the field.

There is a reason why guys like Pedro are PITCHERS...

There was a game last year when Pedro had bases loaded and one out...with Pedro, a sac fly by the opposition, AIN'T acceptable...

He got the second out on a popup and struck out the next batter

The MASTERS of the pitching game, get it done

If an inning does not go right, Pelfrey almost never gets it done.

          ::newsflash::

Reyes just homered into the right field mezzanine

          Castillo singled to left

          Wright singles to left

          2-1 Marlins

            @ NEWYORICAN

Yeah, there's a lot of crap we hear, that can be potentially dangerous to folks health, their families and livelyhoods if they don't cut the nonsense. That ******* on the Mets board talking about riot...hmmmm...probably some pimpled-face dork, who doesnt even understand what a riot REALLY is.....ya know? I wonder is he was around in 1968? Hmmmmmm

I tell ya, the anonynimity of the internet gives all kinds of creatures internet muscles...

Bro, we can trade our sons....LMAO

My son does not like baseball AT ALL, and he knows I like the Mets and Red Sox. But.....

he's got the NERVE to have a New Yankees cap he wears on 'special occasions'...LMAO

I asked him, ""what's up with that, and why are you perpretrating?"

He laughed and said, "The Mets? WHO wears THAT hat?"

            LMAOOOOOOOOOOOO

                Whoa.....
That ball should have been caught by Beltran.
One....he plays too deep...but forget that it's a toss between what drops in front and what he gets deep.
Beltran hesitated and was almost standing still for a couple of seconds before he started in.
That should have been out #3.
I'm not saying Pelfrey is good right now...but I don't think you can lay all those runs on his feet(although he did do his best to load 'em up )

                  Re: Mike Pelfrey @ Knight

                  LOL

Beltran was either too deep, or he initially misjudged the ball...thinking it was hit harder/further than it really was...so, yes, he missed it...it was rightfully ruled an extra base hit, but time and time and time again, Pelfrey pitched scared, not unlike Ian Kennedy...and when he NEEDS to get those clutch outs, he simply cannot seal the deal....

I've seen enough of his *** LAST SEASON, and I need no convincing of how not ready this guy is.

And certain folks wanna scream and holler about who they (the Mets) should get rid of....put Pelfrey right atop of that list too.....

Yeah....I agree with you about Pelfrey....I really think the guy can do it...but for whatever reason it seems like he's in mud and can never make the next step. Frustrating. Not that I dislike Pelfrey....but I wish they would have been able to send him to Minnesota and keep either Humber or Guerra. Either one of those guys is going to be really good.

                      @ Knight

Interesting you said that about Humber...I've said the same thing too, but I have come to the conclusion that even though Pelfrey was 'major league ready' when the Twins were inquiring about what the Mets had to offer, apparently part of Pelfrey's makeup aka intestinal fortitude...made the Twins choice real simple...lol

Pelfrey was bad (as he has been most of the season), but Beltran played poor himself- two bad defensive plays from a supposed "defensive master"? A base hit up the middle that scores 3 runs because he misplayed it.. ugh

This team is a mess right now - top to bottom

Tonight's Game: The Good and The Bad

                            The Good:

Mets jump out to a lead

Santana, like usual, BATTLED with runners on...something that pitchers who KNOW how to PITCH manage to do

The Mets add on to their initial scoring inning

Fernando Tatis....6 for 14...a PROFESSIONAL hitter....has anyone noticed that when he makes contact, the squares up really well on the ball...and hits it solidly everytime...still not getting his props from the misguided Mets fans...hmmm...is it because they can't admit that they were wrong about Brady Clark? Yeah, I'm sure

                            The Bad:

Reyes made another error...third straight game...but I'm not gonna kill him, because in the next half-inning, the Mets scored an insurance run, making it 5-3.

Nick Evans...how many men did this guy leave on base tonight?
                            6 or 7?

His swings are long and worse, he's swinging at pitches that are not even in the strike zone. I better not hear one soul tomorrow complaining (or acting like they're upset) about why Endy Chavez was double awitched for Evans prior to the top of the 8th.

Santana, like usual, BAGTTLED with runners on...something that pitchers who KNOW how to PITCH manage to do

Te Mets add on to their initial scoring inning

Eh.. both get a pass in my book.. Evans still just green behind the ears, and Reyes just needs to get out of his slump (no runs scored either).

They are winning.. that should be the important thing..

                                Well.. now, two things here.

Wright - can you get a hit at all???

And, who is the moron who keeps giving the "run on contact" signal??
They need to stop -- NOW!
