Looks like our kids are gonna be huge this season for us. Hopefully the bats don't go cold anytime soon.

I was looking at the Jays site to see which network would show the game...lo and behold no coverage but if you have a Rogers digital box there's a free preview of MLB:EI so you can catch the game.

It's not even on the FAN 590! They're opting to air a meaningless Raptors game.

Sometimes it sucks to live here.

At least you can go to games. Not a whole lot of chance for that out here in Calgary. I didn't even get to see yesterday's game (thanks Sportsnet)...

Go to put on the game today and Sportsnet has gone with a radio show on TV. A guy doing a show sitting in a chair with a mic for radio that you could just listen to on your radio and that is what is on TV. Yesterday poker today radio. AWESOME

Me thinks Ryan is going to get demoted down the bullpen whether he likes it or not. At least the Jays were able to pick him up and win the game. I'm really liking the heart and hustle that this team has. Hopefully they can ride this and prove the experts wrong.

That was an eerily "classic" Jays first there, getting no runs after loading the bases with none out...

Oh man don't piss this game away..What a bomb by Martinez.

Edit: Here we go...2 on 2 out Tallet and Carlson couldn't get it done..

7 Straight balls from League..Looks like the best bullpen in the Majors to me...

I dunno about you guys but I think BJ Ryan is just about done. He singlehandedly nearly pissed away a gem by Roy today. I dunno what the Jays are gonna do but obviously BJ needs to work out the kinks. I'd suggest sending him to Vegas to get more time to pitch his way out of it but he might whine like a big baby.

I think he's getting a bit to old. His thing is throwing hard and being aggresive one inning at a time but I don't know if velocity is something you get back with practice. It sucks holding your breathe everytime he comes in no matter what the lead is. He reminds me of Tom Hanke who started out great with them and by the end of his run with the team was just plain scary to have him come in. Timlin too who I just never thought was good. B.J. was great when he came on and I really like the guy. He looks like he cares alot and tries so hard but it's just not there right now. Do they still have that Jeremy Accardo guy. He seemed like he could close. Duane Ward was the last good closer we had that didn't fall apart eventually. Halladay must be a little choked about not getting a win today.

                          1. Halladay got the win so no need tow worry there.

                          2. Henke was still fairly reliable in his last couple seasons with the Jays. He then went to Texas where he had a great year in '93, fell off the table in '94, went to STL where he had a renaissance. Tony La Russa even tried to convince Henke not to retire but to no avail.

                          3. Accardo is in Triple A his problem last year is that he lost his splitter which was basically his out pitch. He's trying to work out the kinks and get it back while he's down in Vegas.

Okay, I think the Jays gave BJ his chance. He needs to pitch some solid middle relief innings before he even gets to have a ball in his hand for the 9th.

I don't know if it's mechanics, confidence, or a bit of both, but BJ Ryan is NOT a closer right now. He needs to have some low-pressure innings under his belt before the Jays ease him back into it.

I can't believe Cito is saying that he's keeping BJ on until he quote "can't do it". What more proof do you need that he's gonna choke up every time he pitches the 9th? This is reminiscent of Miguel Batista from a few years back

With the offense we got so far this year Cito can afford to do this. As long as he gives BJ the hook before the game goes to hell.

Paging Las Vegas, Brad Mills or Brett Cecil please. You could tell something was up with Litsch today, his location was horrible all game long. Who knows how long he'll be out for, but it looks like we probably have to dip into the kids-bank once again.
Oh, and Travis Snider is a machine. Two moonshots tonight, keying the nice comeback win.
