Braves should be 3 games out now. Win tomorrow and its 2 games. The Braves had to win this series and they look to be doing that. Now they need to pass the other teams also ahead of them.

With the way Javier has been pitching lately, I like our chances for the sweep, assuming our offense can give him 3 or 4 runs.

I'm surprised JJ didn't have a heart attack seeing over 4 runs being scored while he's on the mound.

Haha, I know whatyou're saying brother. It's pathetic when a pitcher has a losing record, but has a 2.something ERA.

Anyone else in favor of putting a waiver claim in on Ryan Freel? I'd love to add him to the bench and demote Hernandez. He also provides some insurance at several positions with Prado now locked in at 2B and no guarantee for when Infante will be back.

I would second this. He'd be a good bench player for the Braves.

Also, where's Greg Norton at? I know he's on the DL, but even before that he rarely played.

Heisman, how many times are you going to change your avatar?

I liked Freel as a Red but he's too injury prone and there's a reason why he's bounced everywhere...but...on the other hand he's a gritty player who really plays with energy so it could rub off on () Esky.

                Re: 2009 Atlanta Braves

Another big win tonight. This time its Anderson with the big homer and Diaz pacing the team with three hits. Its really good to see the offense clicking on all cylinders and everyone chipping in.

First sweep of Philly in Atlanta since 2005 and Braves are the last team in MLB to win four straight games. Definite chance at running it higher than four against last place Washington.

Here's how the pitching stacks up...

                Kawakami (4-6, 4.25 ERA) vs. Detwiler (0-4, 5.24 ERA)
                Hanson (4-0, 2.48 ERA) vs. Lannan (5-5, 3.45 ERA)
                Lowe (7-6, 4.44 ERA) vs. Olsen (1-4, 6.56 ERA)

Two of three Nats starters (excluding Detwiler) had quality starts their last time out with Lannan getting a win and Olsen taking a ND. Conversely, Kawakami took one off the neck, Hanson was his dominant self and Lowe looked better than he had his previous three outings. ATL better have Medlen ready in case KK is shaky, but if we can get past Thursday then I like our chances for at least 2-of-3.

I just chose Milwaukee becasue Jodie Meeks was drafted to them, and up until this series I was disgraced to represent Atlanta.

Also, alot of my family lives up near the Curves baseball stadium.

Based on his season stats, I believe that Norton retired and forgot to tell anyone.

The official website of the Atlanta Braves with the most up-to-date information on news, tickets, schedule, stadium, roster, rumors, scores, and stats.

Kelly Johnson to the 15 day DL with what is being called wrist tendinits. Brooks Conrad called up from AAA. I like this new strategy of putting guys on the DL because they simply suck and it having nothing to do with them being injured. The same thing happened with Greg Norton. He was batting like .105 as a pinch hitter so all of a sudden he found himself on the DL.

                        ^^Beat me to it.

I'm not surprised at the DL move but I don't like who they called up...Conrad has over 15 errors to be a "utility player" and there's a lot of other guys who've performed well in 3-A like Brandon Jones, Canizares & even Chris Burke.

Feel any different now? 3-run bomb by Conrad in the 7th. LOL I know what you're saying though.

Soriano almost blew it but we somehow held on for the win. The streak is now at 5.

I can't believe we're actually scoring runs!!! I'm enjoying watching this team again. Inserting Prado into the starting lineup has given this team new life it seems.

Also, I don't want to be a pessimate but it really feels like Prado will get injured soon. After that play he made in foul ground yesterday I was cringing with how he was turned and spun around.

This is huge though for us to get some momentum going into the all-star break for the stretch run. I'm curious as to what kind of moves Wren is thinking about since we're so close into contention. It's rumored he's tried everything to give away Frenchy but nobody wants him and that he's unsure that if he traded Esky if he would get equal value.
