This is huge though for us to get some momentum going into the all-star break for the stretch run. I'm curious as to what kind of moves Wren is thinking about since we're so close into contention. It's rumored he's tried everything to give away Frenchy but nobody wants him and that he's unsure that if he traded Esky if he would get equal value.
I'm anxious to see what happens. I can't believe we're only 2 GB right now. We've had some horrible stretches this season and we are so lucky to be this close. Oddly enough, I believe the team had a better record at this point last season than they do now. All the trade rumors keep pointing to Escobar and Vazquez, but they will only go if we get a bat in return. What kind of bat are we looking for? I don't really see one out there that's worthy of giving up these guys, but from the way it sounds Escobar has become a clubhouse cancer and has to go. If Vazquez had any run support, he's a 9 or 10 game winner easily at this point and probably a leading candidate for the Cy Young, so I would imagine that we would have get a hefty return for him. The sad thing about dealing Escobar is that we really don't have anyone to play SS so we would have to get one in return. I just don't see that many great ones on the market right now. As bad as his attitude is, dude is a tremendous talent and I love to watch him play. It's a shame we had to lose Andrus in that trade with the Rangers.

Let's trade Gonzalez. He just blew Hanson's win. Dammit! Seems like he gets in trouble every game he pitches now. He needs to settle down on the mound and stop jerking and rocking like he's having a seizure when pitches.

I have NO patience for guys coming in from the pen and walking guys...it's 3-1...throw it down the middle if you have to, but DON'T walk people. I'm sick of this crap.

Man, did those four double plays we hit into come back to haunt us or what? Hanson pitched his heart out and got squat in return. I hope we don't lose 2 out of 3 to these guys.

They need to make him pitch from the stretch. He doesn't do all that crap that causes him to lose his location.

Unfortunately, the real Braves have returned.

Yep, sweeping the Phils was pointless since we are once again 4 games back. I can't stand how inconsistent this team is. Just when I thought they were starting to turn things around and had a shot at taking first place before the all-star break they lose 2 out of 3 to arguably the worst team in baseball.

What's the deal with Lowe, by the way?

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

I wish I knew. He's not even close to the pitcher he was the first 6 weeks of the season. How this team can sweep the division leaders and then turn around and lose 2 out of 3 to the worst team in the division/majors is beyond me. I thought they had turned things around and were ready to make a run, and now we're almost back to where we were before sweeping the Phillies. This is so frustrating. I just don't get this team...........

I have no clue. I know that at one point in the season, he looked All-Star material. Now, he looks like a total waste of money. How many starts has he lost in a row?

He's winless in his last 5 starts, losing 4 of them.

The problem is with Lowe's sinker. For the past month his sinker is coming in flat with no downward movement. If his sinker isn't working, he's pretty well screwed.

This is exactly what I said a couple posts up. Post #517 I believe.

When is McCann actually going to come thru when it's either a guy on 2nd or 1st and 2nd with 2 outs?

When is Bobby going to move McLouth out of the 1st spot? We're wasting too much power with the solo HR shots he's doing.
