Well I see that we continued our futility against the division bottom feeding teams last night. Just when you start feeling good about this team's chances to slip into the playoffs, they lose back-to-back series and then drop the opener to the Padres.

One thing we gotta do is start scoring runs. Our offense is starting to look bad again.

Bats finally came alive. Escobar was back in the lineup, although he didn't score or get a RBI. LaRoche is on fire, maybe he wasn't a bum after all.

See, I'm not crazy after all for liking the Kotchman for LaRoche deal.

Went to the game last night. Chipper was the only guy to not contribute. Even Diaz contributed four runs despite only two being RBI's and hitting into three double plays.

And we had Blanks' number last night. Almost struck him out a fourth time in the ninth inning but he coaxed out the walk. He would have had as many strike outs as the entire Braves lineup that night.

The crowd was abysmal; there were as many Braves fans there as there were Padres fans. Official attendance: 17,916.

Glad to see the Braves showing some signs of life at the bottom of their order and how they still have pinch hit depth with guys like Kelly Johnson.

What he is back from his "injury"? I guess he found a way to "heal" his "injury" with all the time he spent in AAA.

Whoa...you were there? I went Monday and last night...heading out in an hour to see Hanson pitch.

Yeah, I was up in section 305, row 8 or something. Haha that one guy between innings was embarrassing. "No deal! No no, wait... deal!"

If you heard someone yell "Silver Sombrero!" during Blanks' last at bat, that was me haha.

Johnson is back from his injury. He pinch hit and stayed in the game after his single.

Trading Kotchman for LaRoche isnt looking like such a bad idea as of right now. We need the extra pop in the lineup.

I wonder if something is wrong with Soriano that hasn't been reported. He hasn't been his usual self of late.

Why we did not make one move this year to get bullpen help is beyond me.

Last night's game killed me...everything went so well. Chipper was hot, Lowe pitched well, Moylan got out of a couple of jams...and then it all went up in smoke.

I think Soriano is tired...if you remember two years ago he was dominant in the 1st half and then got lit up with the HR ball in the 2nd half. I think as he gets tired his location suffers, the ball gets up, and hitters crush him.

I don't know if they would do it, but I'd love to see them take a flyer on Smoltzie as a closer at this point...man I miss the days when we had a double digit lead in the division at this point.

Soriano isn't the only on who is tired. Moylan leads the NL in appearances with like 61 and he just had Tommy John Surgery. Gonzo has made 55 appearances and that's a career high for him.
O'Flaherty also has 55 appearances. One short of his career high. Bottom line is the bullpen has been over used all season long and I think it's going to cost us a playoff spot down the stretch.
