you know, i don't see that as being that bad an idea! everyone said that kawakami was gonna be the 'pen guy, but come september, we can afford to stretch out the staff a bit in all directions, which frees us up to utilize all 6 guys!

two good wins...glad to see Mac attack is hitting his way back into form!

Imagine throwing a playoff rotation of Hanson, Hudson, Jurrjens, with Vazquez, Lowe, and Kawakami there in the pen just in case. Man....

I'd have a VERY hard time picking which three or four to start.

Vazquez wouldn't be in the playoff rotation? I think you're more likely to see Vazquez, Jurrjens, and Lowe in the rotation if they were to make the playoffs, assuming Lowe gets his blister situation taken care of. However you look at it though, if Atlanta gets in they have a great shot of advancing with the pitching staff they have, especially in a short series. The problem is getting there though. We can't seem to gain any ground no matter how well we play.

Playoff rotation (hopefully... [crosses fingers] we have the need for one)

          Vazquez
          Jurrjens
          Hanson

          Out of the pen
          Lowe
          Huddy
          KK

That eliminates Acosta, Logan and sadly probably Medlen from bullpen for playoffs.

You would still want 4 guys in your rotation for the playoffs unless you plan on sending everyone on 3 days rest each game.

Well the playoff talk is fun but has anyone else noticed that the Phillies are have won 11 of thier last 13, and the Rockies are 11-4 over their last 15 games? The Braves are 11-4 over their last 15 games too, but seem to be standing still in the playoff race. I cannot emphasize enough just how frustrating it is watching the Braves play good baseball and gain absolutely no ground in the standings.

Well, the Rockies have a 3 game series with the Dodgers. Let's hope we can get a little help. A Dodger sweep would be sweet.

A LA sweep and a Padres sweep and the Braves are 1.5 out

WTH is this? Latos is throwing nothing but 4 Seamers and it takes the Braves till the bottom 5th to get a hit? Are they asleep or something?

**** we lost. The damn offense didn't show up tonight. How we couldn't manage to score more than 1 run against Latos and the Padres bullpen is beyond me.

.......bases loaded and 1 out in the 8th and we can't even get a run in. Just a pitiful offensive performance last night. Why we continue to struggle against bad teams is beyond me.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

True, but it doesn't matter how spectacular the pitching is if the offense doesn't do its part. You cant score runs on defense in baseball.
