It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Heyward and Freeman ... September, 2010. These kids could generate the kind of buzz that McCann and old friend Frenchy got.

If Jason Heyward isn't Baseball America's top prospect next year, I'd almost be surprised (top 5 max). And like Hanson, Freeman just burst onto the scene after missing everyone's top 100. Here's to hoping that Schafer is your everyday CFer next September and these kids help fuel another run.

They pushed him back one day. I think they didn't want him to feel the pressure against one of their better pitchers. The Marlins starter has been awful since coming off the DL.

I've never seen Chipper like this. If he's feeling fatigued, why doesn't he accept a DL assignment or something? 15 days off would most likely solve the issue rather than see him floundering in the 3-hole.

If he was even hitting his normal .315-.325 we would probably be leading the wild-card. I'm curious as to how close to Philly we'd be if he was as good as last year...

Braves fans...based on your knowledge of Tim Hudson's rehab do I start him today in a H2H fantasy league...in his first start back from TJ surgery?

He says he is ready to go and has a good record against the Marlins. The Marlins pitcher has also been bad. It would be a toss up for me.

That's a good idea. With Conrad back with the team we could move Prado to 3rd. We'd be better offensively because Chipper is a liability as of now. A well rested Chipper would wreck havoc once he got back from the DL.

he could light up the last two weeks of september! he's always been my hero, aside from sharing my surname, which was one of the reasons for supporting the braves when i started in '96 (andruw was also there!), but even he said his performance in unacceptable. he's only 19 games off playing the most he has since '03, and he's now 6 years older. i think a break would do him good.

Nice win for Hudson. Braves could end the Marlins season with a sweep.

Hopefully Peter Gammons was correct last week whenever he said that in his opinion the Braves are going to end up with the wildcard. He added that Hudson will provide a spark to the club and their morale and the September callup of some young guys will energize this club. So far, so good. Nice win last night.

So the Braves stand at 70-62 with 30 games to play. I think they need 90 wins to get into the playoffs, which means taking 2 of 3 down the stretch. That's a tall order and it will be interesting to see if they can get in.

Maybe I'm the only one but I really enjoy watching Medlen pitch.

Nope...I love him. He is such a bulldog on the mound and after he got over the initial rough patch, he's been solid coming out of the pen.

Our pitching is so much better now than it's been in years...it's a shame our offense blows. I wish I could take this year's pitching and match it up with our 2006/2007 offense.

Yeah but Gammons included Lowe in that list. Kawakami should be used for 2 times through the lineup and then have Lowe/Medlen finish it. Kawakami is usually great the first 2 times through the lineup, then he struggles. Lowe just struggles if he isn't great.
