I'd be surprised if we when the division this year. Sadly, I think it's going to be like this for a long time.

Re: 2010 Los Angeles Dodgers
IF he cant afford the team. He needs to sell it. The Dodgers are a big Market team. There is no need for us to play "money ball". Give the team to someone who can afford to keep this team competitive.
I rather seee Mark Cuban run the show. as crazy as he is, he will do everything in his power to help the team win.Comment

Re: 2010 Los Angeles Dodgers
Until the divorce mess is cleared up- who gets what and how much; the team is going to be in limbo. The west is improving, but not by much which means the dodgers might compete for the division. Even if they win it though, they are going to be worse than the last two years while the phillies are going to be better. I hate to say if but I don't see a serious contender for 3-5 years when everything shakes outHopefully the damage the McCourts do is minimal.

Re: 2010 Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers have opened discussions on a multi-year contract with Matt Kemp, but his agent said Kemp might prefer to go year to year.
"We've only talked about it a little bit, so who knows where it's going to go?" said former Dodgers pitcher Dave Stewart, who represents Kemp and pitcher Chad Billingsley.XBL: DTX3

Re: 2010 Los Angeles Dodgers
I do NOT like the way our pitching staff is shaping up. I am fine with Kershaw. He's going to be a stud. I am NOT fine with Bills. Dude falls apart after the 5th inning EVERYTIME.
Then we signed Padilla. He did great last year for us down the stretch, but he got rocked in the post season, but lets face it, we couldnt score any runs either. I would love to see them give Haegar a shot. I always pull for knuckle ball pitchers anyways.
I hope these young pitchers can get it together and FAST. The batters came around, now its time for the pitchers.Comment

Re: 2010 Los Angeles Dodgers
Agreed that the pitching staff is not where I would like it to be either. But at this stage in the game with the top guys gone, I'm glad at least we got Padilla back. I just hope he keeps it together because he had the hot arm down the stretch.
Kershaw should keep improving while Padilla and Kuroda (if he recovers mentally after the shot he took) will help with depth and innings. The big issue will be Billingsley. I don't know if his problem is in his head or something physical but he just doesn't seem to be able to live up to his ability. I really hope this year he steps up. One of the other young guys should be able to duel it out over the spring for the five spot.
Still think we are the best in the west, after that, not so much.
Belliard is a good pick up. Glad the season isn't going to start with DeWitt and Caroll the only two battling out for second. Now if Loney could just start hitting for power. Think the pads would trade gonzales for him straight up?Last edited by dodgerblue; 01-27-2010, 12:40 AM.Pitchers and Catchers Report; Life Worth Living AgainComment

Side note: dodger blue's avatar is the business. Me likes a lot.
It's almost that time of year. I need to find a new Dodger avatar before the season starts.PSN: PhiNuPi

Re: 2010 Los Angeles Dodgers
Thanks! One of the guys in the show thread made it for me so I can't take credit for it.
I don't know about you guys but I'm starting to get jacked about the new season. I love our young players and wish we had one more name pitcher.Pitchers and Catchers Report; Life Worth Living AgainComment

Good luck to you guys, just not when playing the Dodgers. I want you guys to beat the lights out of the Giants and the Padres. Can you guys do that for me? Thanks.PSN: PhiNuPi

But we'll be sure to take care of the Padres and Giants as well as sending your fans home even earlier than normal this year.Steam: BahnzoComment
