      Re: 2010 Los Angeles Dodgers

Frank McCourt testified that his vision for the franchise always included "significant" reductions to player payroll, higher ticket prices, and a dramatically smaller baseball operations department.

....to cap things off, late Wednesday night it was revealed that McCourt's holding company -- which owns the Dodgers, the Stadium and real estate surrounding the ballpark -- has nearly $620 million in outstanding debt, a crushing financial burden that has crippled the team's ability to acquire players or raise capital
I am in dismay. I knew it was bad, but not this bad. This guy is a chump and a scam artist. He has leveraged the financial viability of the team. Please let the Judge decide they need to sell the Dodgers as community property. This has turned into a nightmare.

We just need to do what the Padres did, and then build up. Luckily we will get our own TV station soon and should help boost revenue, and by then hopefully have a new owner.

Where are the O'Malleys? I miss them.

Torre has stepped down, I hope we get a good young manager for next year

Mattingly? I don't have anything against the guy but the team can't hit and he's the hiting coach. Torre was done, you could see it. I think management should wait to make a decision on this. See who else is available. Heck, sell the team and then they won't have to worry about it!

I say it's time to clean house...but we know they won't do that, so I will prepare for some god awful years in the near future

I thought it was pretty obvious that the don was going to take over.

Yes, a hitting coach gets promoted and we are hitting like the early 2000s. Hopefully we can get rid of Bowa though

This is the same coaching staff that just took you to two NLCS's. LA's problems weren't so much coaching this year as no starting pitching, a poor year from Kemp, and injuries to Either/Manny/Furcal.

He will be the scapegoat, it has to do with ownership, the team quit on this coaching staff.

The ownership problem was/is huge, but my point is that Mattingly taking over doesn't mean poor years ahead. If the ownership issues/divorce stuff doesn't get taken care of things could get bad, but I wouldn't put that on Mattingly.

He will be the manager, so if the team continues to play this way, even with the ownership feud going on, he will be the scapegoat. Trust me, I want Mattingly to do well, I have been all in favor with him since 2008, just ask the other Dodgers fans, but I am not optimistic about the chances for the next few years.

Ah...I misunderstood your previous post. When you said "he" will be the scapegoat I thought you were referring to Kemp. Got it now.
