I think this class is loaded ... they shot for the stars with some of the toughest guys to sign, and seemingly landed all of them. Add Workman out of Texas, Hernandez out of Miami, and Price out of Va Tech and you've got 3 great college arms alongside Ranaudo. The two SS's you mentioned have some incredible upside, and then we've already got Vitek and Brentz, 2 of the top college ballplayers. Not to mention 18 year old Kendrick Perkins (no relation :wink.

I absolutely LOVE what Theo and team did with these picks. High ceiling arms, high ceiling position players, guys that could step in quickly with some seasoning ... this farm system could be absolutely stacked if half of them pan out.

I'm going to admit that, up until yesterday, I believed. I believed that somehow this team would pull something magical out of their hats and go on a run. They'd overcome the injuries, the struggles of certain key players at big moments, and everything would work out. Then last night's game happened and for the first time all season while watching a game, when they brought in Atchinson, I lost all faith in the team and bam, walk-off homer to prove me right.

I swore I was done believing and that the season was over, blah blah blah. Buuuut, I gave them another chance tonight. Maybe it's still going to happen. And then Lackey blows the 3-1 lead and the season goes prematurely down the drain. And now I'm actually kind of sad.

I got to give Terry Francona a lot of credit here. With sooo many injuries, the Sox have stayed relevant most of the season, in the toughest division in the game. Not only that, they've done so without panicking and making a bunch of big name deadline deals or anything.

The Yankees might take the division, yet the Sox are the more respectable franchise in my opinion. If they had injuries to as many key players as the Sox have, they'd be utterly screwed.
