    Seattle Mariners 2012 team thread

I wish every media outlet would talk about this. I wish the mariners management and owners would realise this as fact.

Every single player the ms get sucks and as soon as they leave they do good. Every one! Except ichi and Felix. Look at Kevin Mitchell. Sexson and he still sucked though after. Beltre. Cust, lopez, figgins, Wilson,, etc. The list goes on. They are cursed if that were possible. If they got prince I bet he'd suck for us, then let him go and he be good aagain. My father says its cus of safeco not being a good hitters park. This makes sense as its the only constant.

Really pisses me off cus I love baseball and wish so much Seattle had a good team. But then their farm sucks so I have no idea how they can Ever get good to make the playoffs. I don't think they will ever win the world series anytime soon and I see them being ooosers for long time and even leaving Seattle which wouldn't bother me one bit since they are a bunch of bums every year for the last many years.

If Carp hits 30 homers I will dance a jig. If Guti hits .250 I might fly all the way to Seattle and punch him.

            What an awful thread. Honestly.

We don't need fans like you. So long.

Ichiro sure as hell wont ever hit .250
Figgins may rebound with his new mindset since he is hitting first
I think Carp will probably hit around .275/.270
              Ackley around .290
Guti is now health and i think rebounds to hit .265 15 homers
Olivo is starting not Jaso, and will probably hit close to nwhat he did last year.

Few things, one, we have a very young team with a TON of prospects, repeat TON, We have Taijuan Walker, just 19, a year away from the big leagues, and is being compared to Bob Gibson, BOB FREAKING GIBSON, we have our first round pick Danny Hultzen, 22, could start the year out in the rotation, as well with James Paxton 23.

                by 2013

                Felix
                Walker
                Hutlzen
                Paxton

Thats 4 young potential superstars all under 26.

                Now onto hitting

                C- Montero 22 (BOSS)
1B- Smoak (Very bad luck last year, dad died, got hit in the face with a baseball, injured thumb, still just 25)
2B- Ackley (in rotation for years)
3B- Francisco Martinez great potential, supposed to be our all star first baseman, but for now Figgins, Seager, Liddi, all except Figgins are very young
SS- Nick Franklin, and Carlos Triunfel, both under 21, Franklin is the number 6 SS prospect in the Majors, but for now, Brendan Ryan to hold down the fort till 2013.
LF- Carp, just 25, had a damn good season last year, amd will be hitting his prime when our team is ready
CF- Guti is a stop gap for either Vincent Catricala, Robinson, Wells could very well play here as well (Wells, was hitting over .300 and had a 4 game homerun streak before getting hit in the face with a fastball, and developing Virtigo like symptoms, and started playing unlike himself.
RF- Ichi for now, Most likely Chih-Hsien Chiang, or Johermyn Chavez by 2013 if Ichi dosent resign.

So as you can see we have a very, very young team, so you are infact, very very wrong.. Say what ou want, but i've been studing the Mariners, and reading every blog, watching almost every baseball show for the last 3 or so years when im not with my girlfriend or with friends.

Never said they were, but by 2013, i do believe our starters could over power them, and our line up could actually score runs, the games would atleased be closer, and we could win a few.

Are we are talking about the same Seattle Mariners franchise that once won 116 games in a season while playing at SAFECO? So to say they can't win in that park is just not true.

Even though he's a stooge, its nice to see Bowden talk about the future of the M's, especially since he just repeats what scouts tell him.

Saying the staff the M's are building (Walker, Paxton, Ramirez, Hultzen) rivals the Braves staff of the 90's and the A's big 3 ten years ago is a pretty big claim. Hope they stay healthy and realize their potential. Especially Walker. I'm guessing Hultzen and Paxton are with the big club by June.

Having a young team doesn't mean anything in itself.

I just said that pretty much every player that comes to the m's ends up worse stats and then better stats after he leaves. And I'm thinking of for the last 5 years or slightly longer. Sexson and Beltre prime examples. Chone figgans another. List goes on and on I think. And this sucks. I wish we had more power and avg. I even think if we got Prince fielder and Albert pulhos, don't know spelling, they both would suck for us.

I can think of only 1 recent player that we got who played like they did before us. Cliff Lee. And what did they Do? They got rid of him for nobody. And in his first year here too.

That's all I was getting at. That if seems like everyone we get sucks for us and does better when they leave.

No were not talking about the same because that was a much different team. Right now we only have 1 player from that team and mostly bums since.

Which makes sense since the M's have had a ton of difficulty getting a power lefty and Safeco destroys righties with the cavernous left center field (see Beltre). Figgy's decline is the only one who really surprised me. Who are all these others you talk about?

Cliff Lee wasn't going to resign with the Mariners at the end of the year. Instead you'd rather he left in Free Agency and they get a comp draft pick for him? They did the right thing by trading him. And Smoak isn't a bum. He was fast tracked to the majors and suffered injuries galore last year (and the death of his father). An .830 OPS, when healthy, is pretty damn good for a kid in his first full year.
