15-18 with only 6 games against teams with losing records (23 games against 1st or 2nd place teams). Its only a fifth of the way through the season, but there's obviously progress.
Felix usually shines in the Big Apple. Can't wait for Friday.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Interested in seeing Pettite return for the 500th time Sunday against the M's. Felix is going Friday, I presume?Kemp for NL MVP

Time for the Hector Noesi as a starter project to end, at least temporarily. He needs to develop a 3rd pitch before he's going to be a starter in the bigs. Teams are just sitting on his extremely straight fastball.
Of course, there isn't anyone to replace him in the rotation.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Seattle Mariners 2012 team thread
Great start for Millwood today who recorded his 2000 career strikeout. Ryan and co. got him out of a few jams with some great double plays.
Roots showed a stat during the game comparing Ryan and Jeter. Ryan is first in the majors Ultimate Zone rating this season, Jeter is last. Over the course of the season at this pace Ryan would have saved 30 runs, Jeter allowed an extra 30 so a 60 run difference.
Unfortunately, Wedge's comments about Ryan make it seem like unless he finds his bat then someone like Carlos Triunfel could get a callup.
For years the Mariners traded away vets to acquire young players. Maybe now is the time to buy.Comment

Cool story about Casper Wells hitting a home run in Yankee Stadium infront of his family. He grew up in New York and said he always dreamed as a kid to hit a home run there, and he did so even upon the request of his mom.Kemp for NL MVP

Re: Seattle Mariners 2012 team thread
Crappy day for the M's and an equally crappy day for the Jackson Generals.
The Generals played a double header and got crushed in the first game, 15-4. James Paxton got lit up a bit, allowing five runs in three innings.
They won the second game, but Walker got pulled after only 2.2 innings. He was pitching well but apparently hurt his ankle while covering first base. I am sure it's not serious and the M's are just being ultra careful with the teenager, but when I saw his line and early exit, my stomach turned for a bit.
I'm not really worried about Paxton... He's going to have his ups and downs but I hate seeing him taking steps back. Every pitcher has a bad day so let's just hope he's dominant in his next start.Comment

Re: Seattle Mariners 2012 team thread
Apparently Liddi is going to get some time at shortstop.
DFA Brendan Ryan. The guy is not deserving of a roster spot. He's an automatic out in our lineup and there are better options. Give Triunfel a shot. The kid has had nearly 2,000 at-bats in the minor leagues and is 22. His .800+ OPS at Tacoma will be a huge upgrade over the .140 hitting Brendan Ryan. I don't care how many runs this guy supposedly saves with his glove, he is not an MLB caliber starting SS and Wedge needs to lose the man crush on this guy. At best, he is a utility bench guy in the NL, but even I doubt that.
Do the right thing, Wedge... Get rid of this clown. Maybe it will restore some of the faith that I lost in you.Comment

Kind of felt ripped off for the short game, but that's what you get sometimes when he toes the rubber.
If the Indians can score a couple runs, they likely get the win though...Last edited by 12; 05-15-2012, 10:41 PM.Comment
