You might be giving him too much credit...

I think my 2-year-old son could make better game day management decisions.

I couldn't watch after the Boston series. Cleveland has rocked the M's the past few years, so what happened I expected...except Felix! Come on man...bring back the heater! (thus happens the comments on how he will injure his arm doing so )

At least we'll have another top 5 pick. Its a shame this years draft is looking to be historically bad.

Brandon League gets shelled every time he closes vs. Cleveland. No surprise really. Another year is right though.

Kevin Millwood with a complete game, 2 hit shutout in Denver? Baseball is a ridiculous game.

Seagar and liddi excite me. I want Catricala to get up here and Travon Robinson. Don't know where'd u put em. Smoak concerns me. There's no middle IF help coming from the farm. Maybe Triunfel , but they're so down on him it's ridiculous. Wasn't he a Billy beaver pickup? I can't believe in all our deadline deals, We didn't get a SS

As far as Wedge goes, I guess you can say his game-day management sucks- but really? you gotta use someone. So I don't care who it actually is ATM because this team is so horribly put together , it doesn't matter.

I'm not sure what Catricala and Robinson are doing in Tacoma to warrant a call up. Neither is hitting the ball well. Vinnie has been especially BAD. And there's no where to put them unless you're going to give up on Smoak and Carp.

Nick Franklin is the middle infield help within a couple years. He's crushing in Jackson, but his glove is still behind. He'll be the starting SS in 2014.

The team was never going to contend this year with the youth movement. Tough to build a strong team when over half your key pieces are still developing in the minors.

To put it in perspective, Wedge's handling of the bullpen has cost them at least three wins. We wouldn't be so down right now if they were .500 during a transition year.

edit: Franklin's 2012 splits in Jackson are .339/.394/.522

Great series despite League doing his best to make it sour at the end. Not sure what is wrong with him but his fastball is just flat. You know it is a good series when the M's can allow two runs in the 9th and still win by two.

                            This.

I read an article on Prospect Insider that detailed Catricala's struggles so far this year in Tacoma. There are signs that he's getting on track a bit but his performance so far does not call for a promotion to Seattle. Same can be said for Robinson - love the kid's tools, but he's not putting it together right now. His numbers are better than Catricala's but he's still whiffing almost a third of the time. Not good enough.

I agree on Franklin, but I do hope Triunfel gets a shot sometime this year. That's if he continues to improve. His numbers aren't great right now, but if he can get it going a bit and Ryan continues to stay below the Mendoza Line, something needs to be done and Triunfel is the likely option there, IMO. He was once considered the jewel of the M's system and it might be high time that we see if he's legit or not.

Ryan, I'm not down on Smoak... He's hit the ball well on this road trip and had a bomb today. I'm fine with baby steps with him because I think he figures it out and will be a good player for us - or we could give up on him and he could go to another team and mash. He's by far our best option at first base so you keep playing him.

Things are coming together little by little...

I'd like to see us move Brandon League. He's been solid here, but he's highly expendable on this team, IMO. Pryor is MLB ready right now. If we get a decent offensive prospect for him, I'd be all for moving him. Wilhelmsen can close until Pryor is ready.

I was at the Mariners-Rockies game. Man, they really crushed the ball off of Guthrie. Montero's homer was an absolute bomb and Carp's second-level shot was impressive, too. Plus, always cool to see Ichiro in action.
