I was never off. I don't have anything against most of the players, it's just the decisions made by coaching, management and stuff that I don't really like.

Also....Gonna be going to another game soon but noticing lots of good seats are gone.Gonna sit somewhere I've never sat before. Would sitting near OF(a few sections to the left or right of the OF porch) prevent me from seeing the jumbotron or what?

The Jays must be bitterly disappointed in Jose Reyes. They had to be expecting a guy who would be a star, a difference maker for the $16 million they are paying him and instead he is hitting .258-6-23 with a .313 OPS. His defense has been mediocre. He has been successful stealing, 17 SB in 18 attempts but that hardly makes up for the fact they owe him $22 million next season, $22 million more in 2016 and another $22 million in 2017.

I would have made the Florida trade in a second but they can't be happy with the result.
      .313 OPS?

I agree he was overrated in the market. He had a high BABIP with the Mets. His walk rate and ISO power has been roughly the same since. Peralta>Reyes especially for the money we paid him.

He is still "good", but not "22 million good". I think he is on pace to add 3 wins above replacement level for the year.

When A-rod was making this type of money he'd add nearly 10 wins above replacement level.

Yeah, I know what WAR is thank you lol. You're not adjusting for the inflation of the cost of a win since then. It's gone up anywhere from three to five million dollars. He's on pace to provide about negative three million dollars of "surplus" value. He's trending downward and he's an injury risk.

He's projected to finish marginally above average.

              I wasn't adjusting for anything...just making a basic observation.

I don't think the dollar amount/win is entirely fair to use since not everything is equal on the market. For example, Reyes may have been the only chance you guys had at a decent SS a few years ago, but you could have gone a cheaper route.

22 million is overpriced for Reyes though for sure...

I don't watch the Jays much but has Lawrie ever tried SS?? He seems like he could handle the position and it'd save you all money.

I know. I'm saying that it isn't a valid observation without the adjustments. Not that you were wrong, just that there are other influences you need to consider too.

I really want to see Lawrie at SS, personally. Although he seems a little too herky-jerky for it. But if he got a little smoother that would have been good.

So yeah....I got a feeling the post all-star break is going to see the Jays at sub .500

I know pessimistic, but I just don't see them climbing out of this freefall.

Hope one day we get to have ASG back in Toronto. Obviously hold off until they get grass though(so they can show off their good field to the entire league, since Jays do have abit of a bad rep with their bad field)

I just LOOOOOVE how when the Jays have injury problems and whatnot AA goes and brings back people who we got rid of for good reason. I'm looking at you Brad Mills.

                          Whoa. Didn't see this coming.

The Toronto Blue Jays have designated RHP Deck McGuire for assignment to make room for the recently acquired LHP Brad Mills.

So things are getting desperate with the Jays making preliminary inquiries about Soriano. At least JP Morosi said this morning that it's not very likely. Yesterday Richard Griffin was on TSN Radio and said that if the Jays have a bad 2nd half and finish under .500 AA AND Gibby will be shown the door. I wonder if the house cleaning would go further up and ownership would fire Beeston as well?

Griffin basically said that if the Jays don't make a significant trade at the deadline that things could fall apart quickly. I happen to agree with that as Bautista and others have made it clear they want this roster bolstered.

Last but not least, the next 20 games is life and death for the Jays. They need to be at least .500 in that span if they have any hope of staying in the race. It's unfortunate that our big guns are injured but it's really gut check time here.

My worst fear is that we go 82-80, miss the playoffs and the front office remains intact for 2015.

Don't forget Brett Wallace as well. Don't be surprise if the Jays try and sign Uggla as well. They seem to go right after whoever's available. Reimold, Mastrioanni, Gillespie, Mills, Wallace and now/was considering Soriano. Uggla next?

They gotta stop closing their eyes and randomly going after players and focus on what they really need and make it happen. Whatever happened to Prado or Headley?
