Folty replaces Cahill soon, and at some point Minor will take over for Stults who hopefully becomes the LR.

The 5-0 start was fun, but I guess we're back down to Earth now. Unless they pull out a miracle tonight, the Braves will be 3-7 in the last 10 games since that 5-0 start. The pitching has been inconsistent, the bullpen(Jim Johnson especially) has been plain bad, and the offense has cooled off with RISP.

We knew not to expect anything from this team....we're two/three years away from competing. As long as they keep playing hard, competing, and we get to see the youngsters come up and get some experience then the season is a success.

I figured the bullpen would become average at best once the season was deeper than 5 games, but to see the lineup completely fall off a cliff with runners on base is a major disappointment. They led the league in average with RISP, now they're like what? 1 of 10 this series?

If they just came through with runners on like they did the first week, they'd have 10 wins by now, not 8 still.

The 5-0 start was fun, and 3-7 sucks. We knew this was not a 100 win team going in, and 5-0 did not change that. 3-7 does not mean that we're going to finish with 50 wins either though. We just have to enjoy the good times when they come, and understand that the bad times are just about the process of rebuilding. Still though, we are not even through the end of April yet. Let's just relax and see what happens. Cahill blew up in the 5th last night but he looked greatly improved over his first start before that inning. Stultz managed 6 strong innings tonight. We're a game over .500 despite our top 3 rotation guys still working out some kinks, and our best player is having some early season struggles at the plate.

I want to see how we respond this weekend against the Phillies. This is a team we should beat and hopefully get a sweep right back.

What happened with Freddie tonight...terrible game, poor guy.

                Really need some offense.

Also...I'm loving this Cody Martin kid

Any competent manager wins a game with a 10-2 lead. I was done with Fredi after 2013, but thought maybe he deserved another chance to redeem himself as the team rebuilds. Not after tonight. No one deserves a shot at being a manager after losing a game in that fashion, especially when you already have a reputation for having your teams collapse year in and year out.

Leaving in Avilan after he walked 2 of 3 batters was awful. Leaving him in after a triple after the two walks was even worse. Letting Callaspo continually be downright awful at 3rd is a disgrace. He makes so many mental blunders it's embarrassing to watch and call professional baseball. Easy double play ball turns into a missed tag and only one out and 3 runs instead of ending an inning.

Teheran should've been taken out after a run inning. So much wrong and very little right from a managerial standpoint. It's sad too, because this team has shown so far that it can compete for this weak division, but Fredi is even holding this roster back.

Look at the bright side, we're paying the guy who hit the game-winning homer last night.

I haven't been that livid after a regular season game since the end of the 2011 collapse probably.

Holy cow, people...one week you're loving how this team plays and the next you want to write them all off and get rid of the manager.

I say take it chunks...we're hitting, putting the ball in play and getting on base. I hope it continues, especially Markakis and his hot bat.

                          ....

Note to John Hart: please DFA EY.....217 OBP (.532 OPS), fringe-average defense and only 3 SBs (because he can't get on base!) His track record has proven it won't get much better.

Last night was frustrating (thankfully, I wasn't able to actually watch it) but this year's team is still more fun to root for than the last few years. We're going to endure our share of struggles, but I think we all knew that coming into the season.

As I said all along, I don't expect much from this team. I did not, however, expect our starting pitching to suck so hard...not one starter has made it through 7 and we're 20 games in. I was really expecting our offense to blow, but so far it's been the best part of the team.

Interestingly, Heyward with a negative UZR and negative WAR thus far with a .623 OPS.

                                Shelby meanwhile looks pretty good.

Only a month in but still...advantage ATL.
