    Re: 2015 Cincinnati Reds

Time for someone to make a new team thread, unless Shiz wants to just change this one to 2016. This year is going to suck, although I think they will be better than expected if the offense stays healthy. Votto/Mesoraco/Bruce/Phillips/Suarez is a solid core. The pitching staff though... Yikes right now. It brings back memories of the early/mid 2000's.

      Re: 2015 Cincinnati Reds

Yeah this thread's inactivity shows the excitement we have for this season. It's a shame.

I think Mes coming back is the wild card for us. He was great 2 seasons ago and was never healthy last season before finally hitting the DL so he's almost forgotten. But that's a big piece to be missing, and if he comes back healthy he could make us better then we expect to be after cleaning house last year/this offseason.

I dig that Iglesias is getting the ball for opening day. Hopefully he keeps getting better.

Even though our season is already sank, it's nice to have baseball back. The summer grind will be tough, but the spring could be fun.

I always am excited to see baseball back but I know how this season is going to go. But maybe we'll be alright. Who knows.

Highlight of the year will be in the first week when Stephenson finally makes his MLB debut.

Iglesias is going to be really good. What a signing by Walt there.

Buy low, sell high. That's where the Reds have always struggled.

Trade Adam Duvall!!!! (And Jay Bruce too!)

Bruce and Cozart could be gone at the deadline. I like Duvall, but if a team wanted him bad enough to overpay badly (IE multiple top 100 prospects) I'd trade him too.

Joey really STRUGGLED in April and May.

But, if the last two weeks are any indication, Votto appears to be getting in one of those grooves (.313/.389/.750).

I cant imagine Votto batting in the .230's all season, and he does seem to be looking much better at the plate recently.

On a side note the team while we did end up losing these last 2 games, they are playing much better. I told my wife if we actually had some descent pitching we could probably be setting in 2 place in the division.

I like how are guys are battling and it showed during the extra inning game even thou we lost, they continue to fight. Plus it shows they do play hard for Price. I know this wont be a popular thing, as any time a team struggles fans tend to put blame on manager, but this is the 3rd year in a row we have had injuries, and the past year and a half have been rebuilding, but Price has did a solid job this year with what he has, and decision making has improved. He has always been better at managing a lineup than Dusty was, but oddly enough it was bullpen decisions that he made head scratchers. Last year of his deal, I hate to see a guy lose his job when he has finally got past the learning curve of managing, and then see him have success somewhere else in the future. Plus its not like he has had a full deck to play with since becoming manager, but for 2 years he did make some head scratchers, but finally seems to be much more comfortable in his job.
