He homered tonight, hopefully that will jumpstart him.

Bryan I think that is merely a "threat" to try to jumpstart his season. We cant afford to lose a player that could possibly (even though he hasnt) provide some power. Also we dont really have anyone else to play there that would do any better.

That Soriano rumor will probably never happen but it would be a great move to make since the Boone move really hasnt paid off but I still think it was a worth the shot. I would love to see Adam Dunn in a Twins uni and he is only making a little over $4 million but I know that wont happen either. I have heard we are shopping Joe Mays as well so we would be able to take on a little salary if we are able to unload his huge (for us at least) contract. Also Joe Randa was traded to the Padres so I think we will continue to hear rumors about an upgrade at 3B

We really need to make a move to add a bat if we hope to contend for the wild card.

I was watching "Baseball Tonight" the show on ESPN and they are saying that the Twins are interested in Bill Miller. I really hope the Twins don't do that trade! If anything Boston owes the Twins big time because the Twins practily gave the doug m.
As I post this the Tigers take a 1 to 0 lead in the 1st inning.

If I was Terry Ryan I would try and get Alfonso Soriano. Yeah I know he plays 2B, but who cares about Boone. The trade in my opinion would go like this:
Twins Get: Alfonso Soriano, Minor League Player TBA
Rangers Get: JC Romero, Joe Mays

And then the infeild would look like this:
            1B - Justin Morneau
            2B - Alfonso Soriano
            SS - Nick Punto/Juan Castro
            3B - Nick Punto/Michael Cuddyer

Then the Twins can replace Joe Mays with Scott Baker and replace JC Romero with Travis Bower(I think that is his name, I think he is the current closer for AAA Rodchester). Whats your thoughts on this?

That would work for me. Baker has some good stuff and sorry to say Mays carreer has really been cut down because of his injuries. Romero seems to be streaky at best and I'm sure our pitching staff could make up for his loss.

I am watching the Twins game on FSN north and Bert B. said that on Terry Ryan's radio show he said that they are trying to get a right handed power hitter. I wonder who he has in mind? It better not be anyone from the Red Soxs!

We need a major trade now to get back in the wild card race. I really hope it's Alfonso Soriano

Morneau seems to be coming around a few HR's and he just missed one last night. I want someone at 3b who can play defense! And get rid of Boone, he's a flop.

What a game pitched by Cy Young, I mean Johan Santana tonight. A complete game shutout and he only gave up 3 hits. Plus he had 9 Ks!

I think it is too late here. We do not have the bats to get back into this. I say we put Mays and Lohse on waivers and see if someone who needs pitching would like to make a move. I say we do this because we have two pitchers who may be pretty good sitting in the minors in Liriono (sp?) and Scott Baker. Liriono is supposed to be just filthy. He is LH and I guess hits 98 MPH.
