It seems like he's showing what he could do now that he's actually had a chance. He is showing that he has some pretty wicked stuff.
Have you been watching Small at all? The thing that makes his performance so amazing is that his stuff isn't that great. Guys like A.J Burnett and Dontrelle Willis and Barry Zito have great stuff... but a lot of times don't now how to use it.

The thing that makes Aaron Small so great is he doesn't try to blow pitches by hitters or strike them out. He paints the corners with excellent precision and lets them put the ball in play and lets the defense make plays and it works.

I think he even said something once like "I know I don't have the best stuff so I'm just going to do what I do best... let them put the ball in play."

Anyways he'll be a huge component of the bullpen in the playoffs if Tom Gordon gets the "October willies" again.

A pitcher that knows that he doesn't have great stuff, yet does very well in spite of it, is a very dangerous pitcher. His stuff looks hittable from watching it on television. However, it seems at the last moment the pitch moves enough so a batter pops out or hits a weak grounder on contact. Now trhat is some nasty stuff.

Well, the only good thing is that this probably means Small will go on the DL soon. A Yankee ptcher cant be successful this year without going on the DL.

The surprising thing about this season.... with how insane the pitching staff has been changed around... we are tied for the 2nd most CG's in the AL with 8 and have the most Shutouts in the AL with 11.

Last season we were last in CG's with 1 and second to last in Shutouts with 5 behind the Royals.

Well I was referring to the fact that Gordon was vomiting in the bullpen during Games 4 and 5.... while Quantrill was not.

I'm praying for a win tonight.. we're on National TV which we've won some dramatic ones in the past on(the Mets game this season that Sheff got ejected from and the A-Rod walk off HR against Oakland last year plus the rally of Joe Nathan in Minnesota last year)

Bellhorn taking over for Cano tonight at 2nd, Sierra starting at DH.

I'm so happy to have Sierra back on this team. He has always been so clutch.

Lets get it done guys! Go Yanks

This ump has an extremely high strike zone. Some of these being called strikes are clearly balls.
