Good 1st inning for Papelbon. Allows a single then gets 2 strikeouts and a fly out. He just blows people away with that high fastball.

Why do people even pitch to Ortiz in big situations anymore? The man is clutch.Comment

Are you ****ting me?
I sat here, and said...Ortiz is going to tie this up, RIGHT NOW. He's going yard, I know it...
And what does he do?
I hate that ****er.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

Typical Red Sox....
Down to the last breathe...and BAM! Its 46-3 in the 10th. Everybody's batted around 9 times, with 24 homers, 8 by Ortiz.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

Here's to Boomer for getting it done tomorrow. Bonderman will be a tough task. (Besides the 10th) this offense really has to pick up. You're not going to be successful when you get TWO hits against Nate F'N Robertson. How 'Bout 'Dem Boys From Beantown: 86-63Comment

Originally posted by VTek33According to the Boston Herald, the Red Sox do not plan to recall Mark Bellhorn (thumb) from Triple-A when his 20-day minor league rehab assignment is over Saturday. THANK GOD!
Graffy for 2nd basemen...Until Pedroia.
Clearly, he's not the same player in 2005 than he was in 2004. I don't support getting rid of Graffanino for Bellhorn, though I'm disappointed to possibly see him finished as a Red Sox. Again, Pokey Reese and most other 2B in 2004 do not hit that home run of Lieber in Game 6, and the game winning home run in Game 1 of the World Series off Tavarez.Comment

Re: Official Boston Red Sox 2005 Thread
What a crazy game that was. When I saw the type of stuff Rodney had, I just knew Ortiz was going to launch one. It was stupid of Trammel to pull Robertson, I would have let him continue and I was psyched to see Rodney come in. The 10th was just rediculous. Just when people around Boston are ready to hand the MVP award over to Manny, Ortiz fires back.
I think Remlinger is done. He's just plain terrible. I'm hoping they move Papelbon to the pen because I think he could be lights out for the Red Sox. And with Schilling struggling, I'd be willing to let him try closing games out for some of September and see how he responds. Though I'd rather that Foulke comes back strong and solidifies that role so the Sox don't have to experiment further.Comment

Don't forget about Olerud. Youks will probably be optioned down to Pawtucket for Olerud. I'd really hate to see Peta go because I've been a huge supporter of his, but I'm not sure who else they can send down. Does Gonzalez have any options left on his contract? Maybe send Paps back down to AAA and let him and Dalcarmen sit there until September?Boston Red Sox l New England Patriots l Boston Celtics l Massachusetts Minutemen l Boston College EaglesComment
