They fought back though and Pete Walker looked very solid.I think Spier made an appearance and looked good. The Bullpen has been decent so far except for Batista. This was only our 2nd or 3rd game where we didn't get a quality start from our starter.Just goes to show how good our starting pitching has been this early season.Comment

Re: Official Toronto Blue Jays "Birds Nest" Thread
Holy smokes!
I'm watching the Patriots day game here and the Jays are just WORKING on Schilling! This is why the Jays are so successful this year. They're reminding me of the A's and the Yankees of the mid/late 90s with how patient they are.
Oh and here's your fact for the day: The Jays are 3-0 in Patriots Day games.
EDIT: Damn they didn't score but Schill's got a very high pitch count.
EDIT #2: Well it don't look too good. The Jays are down 7-1 "sigh"Last edited by SPTO; 04-18-2005, 11:34 AM.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I was checking the score throughout the day in school with my cell phone and it was hearbreaking to see the 12-6 loss at the end. Halladay tomorrow I think hopefully he can improve our record to 9-6 which I'd be really happy with.Owner, Spear Interactive

Re: Official Toronto Blue Jays "Birds Nest" Thread
Halladay has been brilliant again.1-1 game.We need to get him some runs to give him a win.Arroyo has pitched well and has gotten out of some jams but he hasn't been unhittable. We've left too many on base...Comment

Re: Official Toronto Blue Jays "Birds Nest" Thread
Yeah this game reminds me of last year when they couldn't cash in runs to save their lives.
Nice to see Koskie hit one out tho.
EDIT: David Ortiz "sigh"
EDIT #2: WOO WOO Vernon goes deep!!Last edited by SPTO; 04-19-2005, 07:46 PM.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Great win by the Jays.
It looks like Koskie may be out of his slump with a great hitting performance tonight. The only thing that bothers me is that Batista made it interesting in the 9th.....AGAIN!Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I may be getting tickets to tomorrow's game which I will really appreciate as tickets to Yanks games in Toronto are hard to come by. Hopefully they're good seats and I can try to finagle a digicam and take some pics for the boards to see.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Last night against the Red Sox was the first time I really watched Russ Adams. Does he always play defense like that? He made 2 or 3 amazing plays.Comment

Hill is currently tearing up AAA but he's blocked right now at the MLB level. JP wants to sign the O-Dog to a contract extention, Koskie is signed long-term at 3B, and Adams is at SS.
There's no way Hill will be DH'ing or playing 1B. The only two viable solutions to this problem is to trade away the O-Dog. I hope this doesn't happen because he's a Gold Glover (Boone didn't deserve it last season) at the position. The other one is to move Koskie to 1B or DH, but I hope this doesn't happen since Koskie is more valuable playing 3B where he is one of the best at that position.
At least it's a nice problem to have. Gross is also blocked right now.Comment

BTW, Brandon League has been sent to Syracuse...
