Bring out the brooms tonight! The AL East is pretty tight, I find myself watching the Yankee games hoping they will lose more than I wanted them to before. And how about Aaron Hill? That kid is certainley something else.

What?Could the Jays be playing meaningful baseball by the time August and September roll around?Still might be too early to tell, but it's looking very good so far.Comment

I have a feeling the Jays will be playing meaningful baseball down the stretch. I just hope that JP doesn't make a stupid trade. (Kielty) I remember before the season saying that the bullpen would rebound and the Jays have really vindicated me there. There have been times when the 'pen is used a lot but the guys are performing well.
I really like seeing the young guys performing tho, with Koskie injured for a while we'll be gettting a sneak peek at what the future holds for this franchise and that's a good thing.

Who is commentating with Jamie? Anyway I like him better than boring old Pat Tabler.
Second, Josh Towers needs to go to the pen or something cause this is getting ridiculous.Comment

2. Yeah Towers has fallen off the wagon. It's kinda sad to see. You can't really blame him TOO much for what happened in the first. They could've gotten by allowing only a run.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Everytime he gets the stats wrong
Everytime he says "mm hmm" (tho sadly he's stop doing that as much)
Everytime he says "excuse me Jamie"

Not sure, TO...One of the Realgm posters on the Raptors board was saying that he saw on a Toronto station that there were rumors that JP is trying to acquire Zito...I'm guessing Gross would be involved and maybe another player like Cat as well as a low-tier prospect. If you consider that Barry is struggling now then it's not far-fetched...Last edited by Vince; 05-28-2005, 05:31 AM.Comment

Re: Official Toronto Blue Jays "Birds Nest" Thread
I think that would be an outright steal. A lot of people criticize Arnsberg but I think he's done a good job of giving the pitchers some confidence and exploiting the best aspects of their repetoire. I think he could do the same for Zito. I think that one reason for Zito's struggles this year is that he's feeling the pressure of being the last of the big 3 and the team not scoring.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Official Toronto Blue Jays "Birds Nest" Thread
There's no chance Zito would go to the Jays for a package like Gross, Cat, and a lower tier prospect.
If Zito was headed to the Jays I would expect a package like Josh Banks, Zack Jackson, and Aaron Hill going the other way.
Beane would never trade Zito at this moment because he would most likely be getting 70 cents on the dollar.
After a rough first month of the season, Zito posted a 3.48 ERA in May. It looks like he's turned the corner.
If Zito was to be dealt he would wait until the trade deadline and get a massive bidding war going on. A lot of teams would love to have Zito in their rotation.Comment
