Re: Super Mega Baseball 3 Impressions Thread (All Platforms)
It does not matter what other games it can play honestly, people always say this but every game is optimized different.
If you can lower settings and the game plays smooth, you are too high settings. If you lower all your stuff as low as it goes and it still stutters, its a game problem.
That is a fairly weak PC so playing 60 FPS at 1080p is going to be tough on med-high. I am just trying to help so it doesn't falsely get out to people interested in this game that it is poorly optimized, because it is definitely not.
Strangely though, at the start of this game it had slowdown (first time I experienced it), so I turned off V-Sync right before the first pitch. Later in the game, I turned V-Sync back on just to see if all was normal, and it was. Don't know why that ended up happening.

Re: Super Mega Baseball 3 Impressions Thread (All Platforms)
Downloaded the demo on Xbox and love it. Having a blast and will buy it this weekend. Can anyone tell me if any Of the stadiums have any Fenway represented like a green monster wall? I that will determines my team for franchise. This is my first time ever with this series so I am clueless. Thanks.Comment

Technically you can lower the sound effects slider, but that also gets rid of everything else (throwing, hitting, catching, sliding, etc.), which isn't what any of us want. Someone on Reddit said the developers are aware and may make changes to it. I'm personally hoping they just make a different effects slider that doesn't change the in-game sounds.
Maybe modding can somehow address it, but I've never modded before and don't know the realistic nature of that.
They were different sound effects, and much, much more tolerable, muted, and fitting. When I'm playing with a custom team though, I don't seem to get star points this time around (at least not in exhibition mode), so after playing my first game and hearing that one sound over and over, yeah it was getting to me. I thought I was getting incoming FB messages on my phone.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I can set the game at my native desktop resolution, and turn off everything, including vsync, and get get 60fps. But only for an inning or two. As the game progresses, the frame rates will start to dip. First into the 40's, and then the 30's. I've even had some weird stuff where the vsync seems to turn itself on, even tho I have it set off....because suddenly I'll have constant 30fps even tho it'll switch to 60 when I'm fielding.Steam: BahnzoComment

On PS4, having a blast.
Can you play 1 on 1 vs a friend on the same system/TV?
Also, how does power pitching and hitting work exactly? Like how are the controls different from the standard pitching and hitting?
Thanks!

I have a slightly better PC than him. This game definitely has some issues.

I’m experiencing the same thing where the frame rate is fine at the beginning but gets worse as the game goes on. Glad I’m not the only one. Does the stadium lighting changing play a part?

Re: Super Mega Baseball 3 Impressions Thread (All Platforms)
Power hitting can occur in two forms, and I understand both just fine. One is by using Square, and the other is by using the right analog stick (which is what I use). It uses a load-and-explode system, where you build up your power toward 99% (max) and use it to swing. Like pitching, if you hold onto it too long (or start too early), the load percentage will diminish, but it seems to be all linear and at the same rate that it increases as well, so it's not necessarily a worse thing. You can load by pressing and holding down Square, and then swing by letting go of Square... or you can load by pulling down the right analog stick, then fire by thrusting it forward. It is possible to check-swing while power swinging, but ergonomically I have found my thumb more difficult to actually make that maneuver happen.
I can't tell you what the under-the-hood costs were to power swinging versus contact swinging in previous games, and I also can't tell you what the equivalent "load percentage" would be of a contact swing (meaning I doubt that a 40% power swing is more powerful than a contact swing, everything else being equal). However, I can tell you that in SMB 3 the power swing gives you a smaller contact reticle. As for me personally, I also tend to swing later and at more pitches out of the zone when I power swing, so there are struggles with it. It is also very possible to homer on contact swings. Here is one that I'll never forget:

The good news is power swings in this game doesn't necessarily generate more or less fly balls or anything, so I definitely find times to power swing with my contact players quite often, and vice-versa. You just have to find your groove when it comes to what you do what you're going to do.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Even a slightly better PC than his will struggle with this game at 1080p on mid-high settings. Not sure what else to say.. Hopefully you guys get it figured out! Fun game!Comment

Oddly enough, if I drop the resolution just one click, then the one game I played was perfectly fine all the way thru.Steam: BahnzoComment

There's no reason for the game to play at 60fps when it starts, and then fall off as the game goes on. There's something going on there.Steam: BahnzoComment
