Re: 2008/2009 Big East Thread
Hey..just checking back on this thread since I haven't been on OS lately. My Marquette Golden Eagles sit at 23-4 overall and 12-2 in the Big East. They just finished game one of the "gauntlet" in which they play: @ Georgetown (already won), vs. Connecticut, @ Louisville, @ Pittsburgh, and vs. Syracuse.
Uconn comes into town on Wednesday and it should be a helluva battle. I think Dyson being out will be a big loss for UConn's effort to try and stop MU's 3 guards. The Bradley Center should be rocking (It's MU's first Weeknight sellout at the BC) and MU's marketing team made a pretty cool website for the game a couple weeks back to try and promote the game: http://selloutuconn.com/
I think MU will go 2-2 down the stretch but 3-1 isn't completely out of the question. Everytime I think about it though the USF game comes back to haunt me. Marquette would have a legitimate shot at the BE title (although they still control their own destiny). One tip in away from being 13-1 in the BE.Comment

I'll be pulling for you guys Wednesday night, if we win tomorrow night @ Georgetown. If we lose, I'll be pulling for UConn.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: 2008/2009 Big East Thread
WVU keeps on rolling with an 18 point win on the road at Rutgers today and now has moved up to 6th place in the conference. That's 3 wins in a row with a trip to Cincinnati up next, then games at USF & DePaul, before closing out the season at home against Louisville. WVU is still considered a "bubble" team by some, but I would have to think that they are in and with a pretty decent seed barring a monumental collapse over the next 2 weeks. I expect them to at least go 2-2 in their last 4 games, if not better. With their RPI and SOS in the Top 20 and a winning Big East record, they shouldn't have to worry come Selection Sunday if they take care of business these last few weeks.Comment

Re: 2008/2009 Big East Thread
Yep, those wins against Villanova and Notre Dame were huge. Now, at the very worse, WVU will be 20-10 (10-8) heading into the Big East Tournament if they go 2-2. I think WVU goes 3-1, losing only to Louisville and finishing 21-9 (11-7). Although, if WVU plays like they did against Villanova, I wouldn't be shocked if WVU won on Senior Night against Louisville to end the regular season at 22-8 (12-6). Either way, as long as WVU doesn't blow one against South Florida or DePaul, I think they're in the Big Dance now.Comment

Re: 2008/2009 Big East Thread
Big game tonight between UofL and G'Town. G'Town must have this game and UofL needs it to stay in the hunt for a Big East title.
I hate the quick turnaround games. Hopefully we can match G'Town's intensity tonight the same way we did Cincy on Saturday.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Will G'twn get the NIT? You have to be above .500 I thought & they are close to not even achieving that.Originally posted by VP Richard M. NixonI always remember that whatever I have done in the past, or may do in the future, Duke University is responsible one way or the other.
