Winnable, but for the Hoyas right now, not automatic. One upset there & a 1st round exit has JTIII doing TV work for the spring.Originally posted by VP Richard M. Re: 2008/2009 Big East Thread
I'm pleased with our win today. Quick turnaround game and up against a team that needed this victory and we matched their intensity from the beginning of the game. In fact, we controlled most of the game.
Only thing is that we have to hit free throws. Its going to bite us in the butt if we don't get that squared away.
Two days off for the boys and then its on to practice for Marquette. I cannot wait for that game, its going to be a war.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: 2008/2009 Big East Thread
8 teams are locks
The Irish are back in the hunt as their main competition for the 9th NCAA bid is Cincy.
Whoever goes farther in MSG of those 2 gets that bid as of tonight.
As for Georgetown, Providence and Seton Hall, 1 more loss before the BET and they have to win the automatic bidComment

Summers has always seemed like a huge prick, I'm not surprised to hear about him pulling a stunt like this. Sapp I'm kinda surprised at though."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: 2008/2009 Big East Thread
Not much you can do when the opposing team starts out 11-11 or something like that. I think they hit their first 9 3's as well. Pitino showed why he is a great coach, full court pressed all game and dropped back into a 2-3 is the blueprint for beating Gtown. They will turn the ball over 15+ vs ANY team that does that.
Glad to see Sapp playing with some confidence but for the life of me I can't understand why JT3 starts Nikita now. He can shoot but is the worst defender I have seen in a long time. He accumulates fouls so fast because he is always out of position and doesn't move his feet well.
Only good thing to come out of this season is getting the young guys a lot of PT.Comment

Well NIT or not, they'll definitely being playing in some postseason tournament since there are 4 of them now. I know this has been discussed in another thread but that's just way too many postseason tournaments.Comment

Providence and Notre Dame are on the outside looking in at the moment, but could easily be competing for the 9th bid.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
