UConn's first exhibition game is tonight against Calhoun's alma mater, AIC. Should be nice and ugly."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Absolutely pointless since it's Juco, but I figured I'd post it in here anyway.
Nate Miles ... remember him? He's at Southern Idaho. The team split into two for a formal intrasquad scrimmage the other day. The final score was 97-92. Miles had 50 points."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

They didn't play all that well, but Kemba looked very good. A.J. didn't have a great game, but he didn't look slow or hurt at all. Hasheem was very good offensively. Doesn't mean much, the tallest kid on their team was 6'7, but his hands were good and he looked very comfortable and aggressive.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

I said it in the middle of the summer and I'm sticking by it - by March Kemba will be our starting PG with AJ at the two. I think Kemba is going to be a very special player who is a perfect fit for our system. If JC could build his own PG from scratch, it would be pretty darn close to Kemba."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

An article on a potential UNC/UConn match up. I have no idea why this was written in early November.

Pitt has their home opener tonight against the mighty Fairleigh Dickinson Knights. It looks like Levance Fields and Gilbert Brown won't dress, so it will be interesting to see how the replacements play tonight. True Freshman Ashton Gibbs is supposed to get the start at the point, and Jermaine Dixon (Juan's brother) is going to get the start at the 2G.Comment

Re: 2008/2009 Big East Thread
So am I. I think he will end up being the primary backup for Fields once we get later in the season. I heard he has missed some practice time as well, which is why Gibbs is getting the starting nod right now.Comment

I want to see what Jermaine Dixon's game looks like. Pitt has failed when it comes to JC recruits ever since Ontereo Lett graduated. Here we go Steelers

Re: 2008/2009 Big East Thread
I also sent in a question to the post gazette askin if Brown would lose his startin job if Dixon plays well. Well the answer he gave me was Brown is actually playin behind Sam Young, so I guess Dixon will always remain the SG starter unless Wannamaker gives him a push.
so with Fields/Brown back it will be Blair - Biggs - Young - Dixon - Fields
personally i wish Brown would be the SG, because he is the 4th best player in my opinion, and now hes on the bench and probably wont be the 1st to come off. Here we go Steelers

Blair-Young-Brown-Dixon(?)-Fields
I am not sure who the 2G would be, but I think this would be the likely lineup at the end of games. Unless they were looking for more rebounding, then Brown might go to the 2G, and Biggs would come in.Comment

Re: 2008/2009 Big East Thread
UConn's home opener tonight against Western Carolina is not on TV,awful. Somehow we got Louisville's exhibition game against Northwest Kentucky State on SNY the other week but we can't get a regular season UConn game.
Hopefully tonight is a little better performance than our last two season openers, where we had to pull out close ones against titans such as Quinnipiac and Morgan State."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier
