Sucks for March Madness to end with a stinker like that
I guess both teams were burned out. And why the heck don't they let Gus Johnson call the title game??Last edited by TexasBorn1; 04-05-2011, 09:13 AM.Comment

Liam's Mum definitely made that pick. I remember watching the show on ESPN2 the day they announced their brackets.
Incredible. Truly incredible.Comment

It wasn't like Butler was just taking all jumpers. The ten shots UConn blocked all count as misses, I think that's a tournament record, and they missed a number of shots within five feet of the basket simply because they couldn't handle UConn's size.
Not that the shooting wasn't bad, it was, but UConn's defense had something to do with it.Comment

Re: The Official 2011 "Running Commentary of Every Single Tourney Game" Thread
not to mention they spent the final 5 minutes of the game just sitting on the ball and running out the clock (passing up numerous layup/easy shot attempts early in the shot clock). If they kept the pace up at the end, they would have scored 60+ for the gameThe first half was obviously horrible for UConn offensively but four of our five starters were on the bench with two fouls and it surprisingly took Calhoun a long time to abandon the high PnR which Butler did a fantastic job of defending.
In the second half we put up 34 points (so nearly a 70 pt pace) shot 45% from the floor, nothing wrong or ugly about that.Comment

Gus Johnson would sound out of place calling that game since it was anti-climatic except for Mack's three pointer to end the first half. Both defenses were playing at a high clip last night. Uconn with their length blocking shots and intimidating Butler players when they did get a reasonably open look. And Butler playing a great switching man to man defense in the half court. Basically the game came down to UCONN making their open looks and scoring in the paint off second chance opportunities.
Upon taking a closer look at that game, that was one offensive display of inept shooting by both teams but mainly Butler.Comment

Although given that alot more than 10 million people fill out brackets every year, it's practically a sure thing that someone would almost get those two details right.I write things on the Internet.

Haven't had time to comment. What a horrendous display of basketball. Horrible way for such an amazing tournament to end. Sad thing is is I actually stayed up to watch that garbage, went on 5 hours of sleep at work.
Congrats to UCONN although I feel like they were given the game more than they won it. I don't know how Butler only lost by 12.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSS!!!!!
Watching in Gampel was absolutley crazy. I doubt I'll ever be part of an atmosphere like that again.
First half both teams were bad. Had a lot to do with UConn's 3 best players being in foul trouble. 2nd half UConn played really well though. Amazing defense throughout, though obviously Butler couldn't hit anything either.
Defintely one of the best nights of my life, and this run has been my favorite thing I've seen as a sports fan. 11 straight wins, 9 of them against good teams. 7 of them really exciting games. Incredible. Amazing year, and the future looks as bright as ever.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

People complaining about the shooting performance is stupid imo, both teams mainly Uconn played some great defense(Uconn interior D was insane). It may not have been the game you wanted but each of the teams D were the reason for the score which is apart of the gameSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment
