Kinda like Cal. He knows who's leaving and he knows who he wants and signs knowing what moves he can make to make it work on the roster. I say Cal and Crean are the very best at that.

You're close. I think the only difference is that when Cal makes it work, it means one of his players will be in the NBA making a lot of money.

Abell was having academic issues. Sad to see him go but it is what it is.

Roster spots are not and is not going to be problem with Crean.
Yup Abell's departure was discussed and they pretty much knew everything going on. Comparing IU to the rest of the conference, a number of teams actually have open spots although they recruit to the scholarship limit. IU seems to be able to stay at the scholarship limit, largely since they sign more guys than they have spots and they get convenient transfers.

I don't know. His HS coach says he is just tired from the process, and he will still have a conversation with all of them on the phone.
That being said, Cal will be the last one to meet with him in person, so I think that's a good thing.

While this definitely doesn't hurt UK, I think all we can all conclude is that he's made up his mind. He knows what each team's roster looks like, he knows what it's like being around all of the incoming freshmen based on his All-Star game experiences, and he knows each coach's personality by now. I am sticking by my original prediction that it's UK, however, I wouldn't be surprised a bit if he went to North Carolina. I would be surprised if it's FSU, even though his parents went there. And I would be shocked out of my mind if it's Kansas.

He himself wasn't even going to be able to get home in time for the visits. Something like he had 2 flights/delayed cancelled from the Nike Hoop Summit in Portland.

Mind made up? The coaches aren't allowed to visit him after that period.

                    Nothing to read into.

Actually, if you want to read into it, it's not UNC or Kansas. As you pointed out, coaches can't visit him after Wednesday. So please tell me how this could possibly be good news for the two schools who entered his recruitment towards the end.

I didn't realize that in-homes sealed the deal.

Think about it. If I'm Roy Williams or Bill Self, and I'm trying to land the #1 recruit in the nation....whose recruitment I got in on later than the other two schools involved....and I'm competing against John Calipari, the coach who has landed the #1 recruiting class 4 straight years....and in Self's case, has dominated me in head-to-head recruiting since 2009.....and Calipari gets the last face-to-face contact with the recruit....and the recruit cancels my visit at the last minute....I just don't see how UNC and Kansas fans can spin this as a positive.

If he doesn't come to Kentucky I hope he ends up at FSU. It just doesn't make sense (to me) with him saying he wants to win a championship, then going to FSU or KU.

No one besides you said this is a positive.

What was said is that you're reading too much into the cancellations as if it had anything to do with the other schools or took them out of the running.
