Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
I'd say there's less than a .0001% chance Noel returns. He's still in line to be the #1 overall pick. Plus, with his injury, I just don't see him taking the risk of getting hurt again."He who controlleths the backboard, controlleths the game." - Adolph RuppComment

Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
I honestly have NO idea what you're talking about. I don't remember anything different or out of the ordinary with Bennett's recruiting than with any other top recruit that picks a different school. Archie Goodwin got death threats because he picked UK over Arkansas. And don't even get me started on how Louisville fans treated Marquis Teague when he picked UK. Idiots are going to be idiots, no matter what team they're a fan of. There's always going to be outspoken bigots in EVERY fanbase who feel the need to talk down to the kid.
Not surprisingly, you're blowing things out of proportion just like people love to do anytime there's a discussion about Kentucky.
But cry me a river with the "Kentucky hate". I don't hate UK.
But you're not going to get every single recruit just because you're UK or closer to Canada than Chapel Hill or Tallahassee. I mean come on.
And the Bennett thing was widely publicized because everyone knew the next Canadian star was coming the following year (Wiggins).
But the poster talking down on UNC and FSU irked me. I can just imagine the backlash if Wiggins chose FSU.

Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
That whole reasons why Wiggins should pick UK over UNC and FSU post just rubbed me the wrong way. Apologies if my response crossed the line.

Most schools have them, yes. I didn't want to group all of you together.

Umm.......what?
LOL
And why exactly would any of my "Wiggins reasons" upset you? They are all logical reasons why he would pick UK over both of those schools BASED ON WHAT HE HAS SAID. I haven't seen him say anything about "wanting to take 20 shots a game" or "being the unquestioned go-to-guy." Which he would undoubtedly would be if he picked UNC or FSU. Yes, he would probably be the best player on UK if he chose us, although Julius Randle might have something to say about that.
If you don't like UK, that's fine, I just don't understand why my reasons would upset you. None of them come close to being "elitist" as you claim our fanbase to be."He who controlleths the backboard, controlleths the game." - Adolph RuppComment

Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
In case you didn't know, Rick Pitino was once the coach of your beloved New York Knicks. He left them to become the coach of Kentucky back in 1989. I thought some lingering hate may be fueling your post. Obviously I was wrong.

Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
And for the record, the recruiting experts are calling next year's UK class the GOT, not me. I learned my lesson this year, i.e., not all freshmen are created equal. It's not far fetched to say Calipari is selling Wiggins on the fact that he could be part of something special. Why that offends you....I have no clue."He who controlleths the backboard, controlleths the game." - Adolph RuppComment

Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
You came out of left field to criticize a 100% logical post about the #1 rated high school basketball star just because someone dare question why he wouldn't go to an ACC school. So yes, I thought it was entirely possible you could have some lingering hate because Pitino bailed on the Knickerbockers. You still haven't explained why you don't like UK other than our "elitist fanbase." I have 100 reasons why I don't like UNC and Duke but I don't go looking for fights because their fans think a recruit may be leaning towards them.

And if UNC and FSU with 'whoever the heck their PG is' just paled in comparison to UK, neither school would've made his final list.
You don't have to crap on other schools to try and justify your point. I guess you can't see how your post came across.Comment

Just out of curiosity, do you get offended when an NBA fan says Chris Paul is better than Raymond Felton?Last edited by wildcatchild; 04-14-2013, 08:47 PM."He who controlleths the backboard, controlleths the game." - Adolph RuppComment

Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
Some of your reasons were valid but the way you dismissed the other players from the other teams as if they don't compare to your recruiting class so they should be written off came off the wrong way. Yes, Andrew has a chance to be the better PG of the ones you listed but the rest of the PG's aren't exactly 1* recruits who don't belong where they are signed.
You guys have the greatest recruiting class ever on paper coming in next year but to say who a documentary will be about before the season even starts is a bit premature."This is for all of my peoples who understand and truly recognize. I asked Chris walker yesterday if he asked where wiggins is going after the Jordan brand classic. He told me almost immediately Kentucky. Chris could have just been playing with me because he knows my hatred for UK but him and wiggins are good friends and I believe him.
For anyone who wants to know how I know Chris Walker he attends my old HS.
I want Wiggins to go to FSU personally.Last edited by iRepIndiana; 04-15-2013, 02:13 PM.Comment

Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
Nobody is saying Paige is a better PG than Andrew or anything like that. There is a very good chance you guys do land Wiggins but I got the exact same feeling when reading you initial reasons that Big East did.

Secondly, I didn't say that they were going to make a documentary; all I said was that you better believe Calipari is selling the possibility of an epic legacy to Wiggins. It is a FACT that many pundits are touting UK's freshman class as the best ever....you even said so yourself....and neither Self or Williams or Hamilton can sell that type of incoming class (or returning team) to Wiggins. Hence, I think UK has the upper hand.
Bringing the Fab Five documentary into it was merely my way of saying "this class has legendary potential." I don't think North Carolina or Kansas have the same potential which is why I think Wiggins, based on his comments, is a UK lean.
