That being said Purdue definitely has the better 2013 class at the moment.NFL: Indianapolis Colts (12-6)
NBA: Indiana Pacers (42-13)
MLB: Cincinnati Reds (0-0)
NHL: Detroit Red Wings (26-20-12)
NCAA: Purdue Boilermakers (FB: 1-11, BB: 15-12), Michigan Wolverines (FB: 7-6, BB: 19-7, H: 15-10-3)Comment

Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
Rivals has Purdue at 4 and IU at 6th nationally. But there are 2 more top 50 players considering IU and no more considering Purdue so IU could easily pass them. Pretty impressive by Crean if you take into consideration the 2012 class he just got. He is still getting all these players from 2013 even with the 5 guys he is bringing in for 2012.
2013 recruit Stanford Robinson out of Virginia is a top 50 recruit, he was in Bloomington on Monday and loved IU. Also word is Byron Zeiler who is a 6'8"PF was in town a week ago and he said he is leaing toward IU. He is ranked #38 by rivals and scout. Adding these two to our 2013 class will easily pass Purdue.Last edited by jake44np; 05-16-2012, 09:45 AM.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

But if you don't get Robinson (and from your board it sounds like the only way that happens is if you can't make room), then IU currently has around a bottom of the top 25 class where Purdue has a bottom of the top 15 class. Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
Yeah if you get Robinson then that will change things. Of course at this point every extra commitment IU takes means someone on the team gets kicked off (i.e. Maurice Creek doesn't get to battle back from injuries).

The scholarship situation for next year isn't even settled with 13 scholarships for 15 players even though Roth is most likely not coming back. Still that leaves 14 players for 13 scholarships. I don't know how that's going to work out.Last edited by dunnyduns; 05-16-2012, 11:42 PM.Comment

Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
Stanford Robinson committed to Indiana tonight. I have no clue how Crean is going to make room for all these commitments. Robinson is number 4 for the class of 2013 and Robinson said he will start recruiting his AAU teammate Beejay Anya to IU. So, It seems like Crean isn't done recruiting for the class of 2013. With Robinson IU has 14 players on the roster as of right now for the 2013-2014 season and that's not including Maurice Creek getting a 5th year.

They will have plenty of schollys for the 2013 class then.
By the way adding Robinson has moved IU up to #2 on some of the scouting services board for the 2013 class.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

Creek will be back next year and have a chance to battle back from his injuries.
Not sure where you are getting they have a bottom of the top 25 class. lol
Before even signing Robinson every recruiting site out there had them top 10 easily if not top 5. Now with Robinson and BeeJay Anya more than likely to following they will be #1 or #2.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

The only reason for IU's high ranking is because no one else had filled up their class. Right now IU has the #88, #93, #97, and #103 player on Rivals. Look at the 2012 team rankings; every team above Florida (#20) had a top 60 player. Once all the top 20 players start committing a lot of schools will move ahead of IU and Purdue.NFL: Indianapolis Colts (12-6)

Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
Well someone has to go early in order to make room. That's a fact, you can't really sell it any other way. And like the other poster said, you're still looking to add more.

And i am not selling anything, read my post above. They will have plenty of openigs after this year. Let me break it down for you.
Below is there roster for next year. Scholly players only, notice they have 13.
The following year they will lose 4 seniors, right now they have signed 4 recruits.
If they sign a 5th the will be one over. Keep in mind Zeller could leave and be a lottery pick after next year. Also they will have a ton of very talented players.I am guessing atleast one will leave because they will not play much and will want to go somewhere they can play. They really have a very tough problem, that is having so much talent.

Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
Getting 5 (BeeJay will sign) of the top 100 players in the country=one of the best classes in the country, trust me. For the 2012 class they were ranked #5 and had the #19, #41, #43, and #141 ranked players in the country. Heck they were ranked #3 on scout for 2012.

The rumor going around earlier this week was a possible transfer of a current player, but as that's just a rumor right now, so I'm going to wait until something becomes official before believing it.
Inside The Hall has a great chart which shows IU's scholarship numbers for the next couple years. http://www.insidethehall.com/scholarship-numbers/Last edited by dunnyduns; 05-17-2012, 02:06 PM.Comment

Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
I haven't read anything about any of next years recruits going to a prep school. From what I have read all 5 plan on being in Bloomington this summer. Things could change and one could end up going the prep school route to free up a scholarship for next year, but I don't expect it.

Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
I am certain it will all work itself out, like i said some guys will come in and not play much and want to transfer. Also like i said its a good problem to have when you have so much talent that talented kids cant get on the court. 3 years ago we would have killed for any of these kids.
The one thing I will take from this though is that I'm going to make sure and enjoy every second I get to watch Zeller in a IU uniform this season. It starting to seem to me that this will most likely be his final season at IU as it seems like the staff is even preparing for that. Especially if IU lands Beejay Anya who I think IU has to be the frontrunner for considering Crean just hired an assistant with ties to the DC area, Stanford Robinson being his AAU teammate, and Beejay Anya himself saying that Victor Oladipo is like a brother to him.Comment

Re: 2013 Recruiting Thread
Now that VTech has finally released Montrezl Harrell from his committment, Pitino and Calipari will go at it in yet another recruiting battle along with Donovan & Gootfried with a short amount of time to make their pitch. Very athletic & 6-7 230LBS, he's going to be a great late period get for any of the aformentioned.Comment
