Re: 2014 Recruiting Thread
I think Duke is still in on Myles Turner, Reid Travis, and Winslow. If they whiff on all of those guys plus This and Jahlil, I'm going to cry.Comment

Re: 2014 Recruiting Thread
While I wanted Blackmon at UK, the one thing I liked about his announcement, is that he seemed happy with his choice. There have been a few recruits over the past few years that when they decided you can tell it wasn't truly their decision (outside forces like parents or something) and I hate to see that. These guys are just kids and should be able to go where they want as far as I am concerned.
Either way, very good pick up for you guys.#WeAreUKComment

Trey Lyles is expected to announce his decision tomorrow at 12:50pm. No word if it will be televised.#WeAreUKComment

I don't know, I hadn't heard anything about that until you said it. Could be true though. Has there been any conversation about him and IU?

Re: 2014 Recruiting Thread
Also, you call Bishop Luers a small school in Fort Wayne, but Bishop Luers has one of the better athletic programs in the state even as a 2a school. Marion is bigger, but I believe that if Marion wasn't James Blackmon's Sr. high school Alma mater he would still be coaching Bishop Luers.
Another thing is that James Blackmon Jr. is the oldest of 3 brothers. There is also Vijay Blackmon who is class of 2016 and is being recruited by I know Indiana. I'm sure Blackmon Sr. wants the chance to coach them in high school as well.Last edited by dunnyduns; 11-04-2013, 09:24 PM.Comment

Re: 2014 Recruiting Thread
I think James Blackmon Sr. isn't looking to keep move up the coaching ladder and use his son to get into college coaching. I mean Blackmon Sr. initially took the Marion job back in 2011, but before signing the contract chose to go back to Bishop Luers High School because of family ties and finally this year decided to take the Marion job, but I believe his wife will stay in Fort Wayne as she is a pretty prominent doctor in Fort Wayne. Seems like the Blackmon's are fairly well rooted in the Northeastern Indiana area and I don't see that changing soon.

I just don't understand how a player can change his mind within 24 hours off announcing his decision. WTF can a coach say to you right before your announcement that he hasn't already said??University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

Trey Lyles to Kentucky. Now hopefully Stanley Johnson will leave the west coast and commit to Kentucky and this will be a good class. Otherwise UK will be awfully thin on the wings next year.Cincinnati Reds University of Kentucky Cincinnati Bengals

Re: 2014 Recruiting Thread
If I had spent MONTHS researching and thinking about a decision, and I had made that decision, I'm pretty confident there is nothing a coach could tell me (Outside of some major unforeseen development) that would negate my decision which was based on all those hundreds of hours of research, campus visits, etc.University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

Yeah, but I changed my mind about stuff like what I wanted to do on a Friday night.
