Just have to say about OSU: holy cow those refs. Just seemed like a lot of calls were going OSU's way in that game. Glad Witchita State was able to hold on -- and they better work on dealing with the full court press in practice this week.Comment

Re: The Official 2013 "Running Commentary of Every Single Game" Thread
I predict Duke will be leading by 1 in the closing moments of today's game. I see Peyton Siva dribbling the ball at the top of the key with 7 seconds remaining. Dieng comes and sets a high ball screen. Siva darts towards the middle of the lane. Mason Plumlee slides over to challenge the shot but Siva gets off an ugly floater that banks in with 2.2 seconds left. Louisville up 1, Coach K calls TO to set up a final play. Cue the "1992 Hill to Laettner" shot replay and Jim Nantz reminding us all, "Friends, we've seen this somewhere before." Coach K chooses Ryan Kelly to throw the baseball pass, only this time Pitino tells Dieng to guard the inbounds pass. Kelly throws a high-arching pass that is intercepted by a Louisville defender as time runs out. Louisville goes to the Final Four."He who controlleths the backboard, controlleths the game." - Adolph RuppComment

Re: The Official 2013 "Running Commentary of Every Single Game" Thread
Syracuse is obviously playing great defense right now but there are some stats that's that are mind blowing for playing 4 Tournament games:
Syracuse has forced 67 Turnovers, their opponents have made 61 FGs.
Of the 160 minutes of game time, Suracuse has only trailed for 10 of those.
Teams are averaging one FG every 2:38 minutes against the zone.
Since the shot clock was introducted in 1986, no team had ever scored fewer than 45 points in an Elite Eight game until last night, and tied for fewest ever in Elite 8 game since 1951
Syracuse held teams to the lowest total points through the first 4 games of the tourney since they expanded to 64 teams
Teams are shooting under 15% from beyond the 3pt line against Syracuse.Last edited by Cusefan; 03-31-2013, 09:29 AM.My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment
