The first thing is that he landed awkwardly. A few doctors have said that wouldn't have caused it alone, but they believe it's likely that he had smaller fractures in the leg already. The added stress of the awkward landing caused them to complete the break.

There may be something to that. I've never had a serious injury in my life (not even a sprained ankle), so I suppose I can't really imagine it. I've been very fortunate not to ever really get injured.

The crazy thing about the injury is that it was a fairly routine play. He just landed awkwardly. Anyone could have that happen.

Yeah, everything I've read has said that while it looked gruesome, this was a routine medical injury that many surgeons and hospitals have seen before.

From what i've seen from people i know in the medical field, recovery time often as fast (if not faster) than an ACL tear...assuming there's no breaks in any nerves or blood vessels

I thought he might've had some osteoporsis or something wrong with the bone, because the more I look at it, the more i think something in his knee or ankle should've gave first.

I believe they did say his diet didn't have enough calcium and vitamin D, so that could have led to more porous bones as well.

I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Waiting for Louisville to run away with this. Nobody gave Wichita State a chance at all.

Wichita State leading by 1 at half.

These dome courts seem to be bad luck for shooters and one way to not get murdered by the Louisville press is to not have them set up their press.

Shockers are legit..... A team that won 4 straight games in the tournament is not a fluke.

If you can't make shots then you can't set the press up. That pressure defense does not mean jack right now. Louisville can't even hit anything around the basket.

Excited to hopefully see Trey Burke dominate the Syracuse zone! Michigan is going to need Stauskas and Hardaway to hit corner 3's.

If the Cards can't get something going over the next few minutes this game may be over. Being down double digits to a tough defensive team that is killing your offense isn't good

UL is in a boatload of trouble.

They're not getting easy buckets in transition and can't score in the half court. Russ Smith nor Siva are great shooters.
