I mean he is on tape.

He cancelled his coaches radio show for the rest of the year and really has not been heard from since Saturday morning.

There were a ton of them commenting on Shaq's son decommitting and now going to UCLA.
They were all saying he should just have stayed with UA because Miller will be coaching them again soon and will be found innocent??
Well there is conflicting information out there

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

      Interesting!

Murkiness of the timelines aside, it does not rule out that compromising information was possibly found on the wiretaps, though those familiar with the conversations are highly dubious that it involved a $100,000 tag for Ayton to specifically sign with Arizona. Ayton was already on campus by the time any June 19-Sept. 25 Dawkins-Miller conversation occurred.

This is why I could never be a fan of any team. I love sports to death. But the bias fan annoys the **** of out me more then anything in the world. It's one of the biggest reasons I love coming to OS forums. I legit respect the users who are fans of their teams. But their not crazy.

On topic, Miller might walk away from this because he didn't do anything wrong.

I'd wait until the dust settles here.

Because they haven't fired him yet.

So man what is Seam Miller telling the people in AZ. Because if they actually have tapes of him. Man it's going to look bad. But it will look even worst if none of this is true and ESPN lied about the report. Can't wait to see what happens here smh

Re: The Official "FBI Investigation" Thread

He vehemently denies all the allegations, and is remaining as Arizona's coach. Which clearly the school agrees with.

I mean, Ayton apparently signed with the school in November of 2016 and these phone calls took place in June of 2017? Why would he need to pay for someone already signed and committed?

I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt, seeing how hard he denied everything and the school is on his side.

                    Yup,
I'd relax too. If this story of the actual Wiretap is true. It's worst. He might have brought himself some time because the stories don't match up. But it still looks weird that it took him so many days to have a press conference. So someone is lying is here. So until the actual FBI is done. Sean Miller might actual play out the season.

                      Very true.

Miller's press conference was awkward. He was reading a letter, barely looked at the room and had a pained expression on his face. It seemed forced and I'm not sure if that's because he was guilty (bad liar), not able to speak freely (say he's innocent and here's why) or what. It was weird.

Either way...if he was innocent, why NOT coach the game after it was announced?

                      Something's fishy in AZ.

I'm thinking it's more at the NCAA level. They don't want anything to come from this because they've turned a blind eye to it and allowed the top programs to do what they wanted for the most part (until the info was so public that they have to do something).

The wiretap may not have him saying he will pay, so basically the NCAA and schools can say just what Miller's lawyer or whoever it was, PROVE it.

Until payments can be proven, it's not a fact that he broke the rules, unless talking about it is a violation.

Well this looks good. I hope it's true.

NCAA president Mark Emmert said Friday that an Olympic model, where student-athletes would be able to earn money through endorsement deals, will receive "serious consideration" following the wide-ranging college basketball scandal.

It's long overdue. I think the Olympic Model is the best possible solution. Personally, I don't feel like schools and conferences should pay players. I feel like a scholarship is enough to play for a school. And, there is great value in a cost free education. The vast majority of student athletes don't sniff the pros. With the Olympic Model you can retain the amateurism spirit while not impeding a players ability to earn in the free market.

The players get the exposure that playing at a Duke or Arizona provides thereby increasing their visibility and marketability. Adverstisers arent paying some 18 year old that's playing in the GLeague the same as one playing on ESPN at Duke. The players with the market get to benefit from their talents and may stay in school longer without money troubles. The non star players on scholarship andin other collegiate sports aren't receiving anything less than the others from the school. College Basketball wins because we can enjoy these great players without these clouds over eligibility and vacated wins down the road. And the game is just better with the stars hanging around. It's not perfect, and I'm sure some other issue will pop up.

Imagins how cool it would be if say, EA or 2K, signed the top college player like Ayton to be their coverboy and in their college basketball game. Then just had like a release form for the other players to opt their likeness in or out the game. I'd bet most players would opt in. Then for the players who don't, don't include them in any way shape of form. I know EA wanted the real players for NCAA Football, it could be possible. I think it gets more unlikely though if each individual player wants to get paid, which I understand too.

Yes the NBA helped cause this, but the whole system is corrupt, all the way down to AAU.

It's a lot of corrupt people taking advantage of teenagers to make sure they get rich if they make it to the NBA.

Paying players won't solve any of that.
