In my mind, it would work like jerseys. Any player who actually appears in the game gets a cut. For the sake of argument let's say a Bagley jersey at the Duke bookstore costs 80$. Well, the player receives 10% of anything that bears their specific likeness so for each jersey sale he'd make 8 bucks on each jersey sold. For a videogame it would be similar. Say Duke gets 100k for being in the game. The players that actually appear in it would divvy up 10% of that or 10K. I'm sure someone smarter could come up with something better. How does the olymic model work for things like that? Just cut these guys in. The schools and NCAA will still make a killing and the student athletes with a market can cash in too. I'm encouraged by Mark Emmert finally acknowledging that the NCAA model is outdated and needs reforming.

The 3rd string RG wouldn't get any money. There's no guarantee that he even has a scholarship now. What's the difference between some players getting money and some not and some athletes getting scholarships and some being walk-ons?
Khalil Mack is a great example. There was no market, per se, for him coming out. Once he started balling, he could have cashed in on it. A portion of his jersey sales, signing autographs, doing ads or whoever. Mack would have been able to make money off himself; all the while Buffaloe benefited from his exceptional play. Mack would make more than the backup Corner because has more value. All the while they receive the same scholarship. If a dude is making money legit I'd think that kills the under the table stuff that has infected college hoops.

Sean Miller has a fantastic agent. I might even say best in the business.

I just read Miller gets $10M if he is fired with cause and $5M without cause.

Thanks.... Weird... But understandable. I thought he'd wait. I wouldn't join LSU if I were him. Who's on that team again?

Welp...sounds like Arizona will come up with a way to part ways "without cause". What a weird contract!

Right?!?? No where else but in sports do people get paid when being fired.

Perhaps I should hire an agent when finding a new job myself. I wouldn't mind getting thousands of dollars because I chose to be an idiot...

What do you guys think about this?

Detroit Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy expressed his feelings on the one-and-done rule Sunday before his team squared off against the Charlotte Hornets.

I kind of agree with the comments made in this article.

Why don't they just make the G League the door instead of college hoops? You could avoid all the BS. And then teams can call up from there. Because as of right now... The NCAA is one of the most corrupt leagues out there. And the FBI had to get involved in this time because they are finding new loop holes to fund this kind of activities.

Basketball is 70% black. Why can't it be like other leagues like Hockey, Baseball and Soccer? That's because the NCAA tournament is so freaking big. They can't lose out on that.

Also don't ban me. I'll erase the post. I know race is a touchy subject in the TOS. But I just wanted to bring it up.

I agree the G League should be the door to the league. I disagree with Stan about race having anything to do with it. Teams were thinking they were getting the next Kobe or KG with these high schoolers and more often than not they simply weren't. They couldnt help themselves. Its not Kwame Browns fault Jordan took him number 1. So a year of scouting allowed the league to at least see the players against decent competition to see where they really were. The NCAA got these studs for a year so they benefited, too. It just isn't working. It was doomed from the start.

I'll also add that football and basketball are the highest revenue generating sports for colleges. I think it's more greed and controlling the money than anything.

I agree that the G-League should be where many of these guys are able to start but you won't avoid all the BS. It may lessen it but if a player in college blows up and becomes a "star" you better believe their last year these agents are going to be all over them trying to get a head start on the rest of their career.
